Don’t say that you have not seen other people’s faults and slander them. Even if you see people who have faults, incompetence or inferiority, you cannot easily slander them. Among these people, you may be incarnated by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.In ancient India, many great Bodhisattvas appeared in front of the world as beggars, butchers, and prostitutes.The same is true now. Some people are particularly inferior sentient beings on the surface, but in fact they are truly great Bodhisattvas.Therefore, if we always feel that we are very great and look down on those inferior sentient beings, we will be far away from the state of contemplating the pure mind and may unintentionally commit the sin of slandering the Bodhisattva.Everyone must pay attention to this issue in the future.

We always habitually believe that all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas must be very solemn, with golden bodies and subtle appearances.If all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas really appear in wonderful appearances, of course it is easy for us to recognize: this is the Buddha, that is the Bodhisattva.But the problem is that all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas often appear in inferior images.When we see some poor sentient beings such as shabby clothes, children, etc., we will never think that this is the manifestation of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. We may insult them with words or actions, and as a result, we will commit serious evil karma.

Everyone must realize that the incarnation of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is everywhere and has all kinds of manifestations, so you must always observe the pure mind.The "Avatamsaka Sutra" records that the boy Shancai has relied on many good teachers. One of them is particularly angry, and the relatives around him are also particularly fierce and cruel. There is also a good teacher named Posumidao who appears as a prostitute. Anyone who sees her, shakes hands, kisses, and hugs can stay away from greed and obtains incredible samadhi.

《There is a story about the clavicle Bodhisattva in Taiping Guangji: During the Tang Dynasty, there was a woman in Yanzhou. She had fair skin and pretty beauty, and was about twenty-four or twenty-five years old.This woman has no relatives and often travels alone in Yanzhou city.The young local man scrambled to have sex with her and be intimate, but she never refused, even sleeping with her.A few years later, the woman suddenly died, and no one who had been close to her could not feel sad or regretful.Because she had no family, the men raised money to bury her on the roadside.

During the Dali period, a Hu monk came to Yanzhou from the Western Regions. When he saw the woman's grave, he respectfully bowed, burned incense and circled around.The locals were puzzled and said to the monk: "This is a lewd woman. Because she has no family, she is buried here after her death. Monk, why do you respect her so much?" The monk said: "This is not what you can know.This woman is a great Bodhisattva who benefits sentient beings with compassion, joy and sacrifice. She is the clavicle Bodhisattva.If you don't believe it, you can open the coffin and see it."People opened the coffin and found that the woman's joints were locked.Only then did people realize that she was the manifestation of the Bodhisattva, so they built a pagoda for her and worshiped the spiritual bones in the pagoda.

《The Vimalakirti Sutra says: "One of the erotic woman who is lustful, first uses desire to hook her, and then lets her enter the Buddhist path."So, some people are very inferior on the surface, and maybe this is also a convenient manifestation of the benefits of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to all living beings.There are many manifestations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the Saha world, and these Buddhas and Bodhisattvas cannot see from the outside. If we accidentally slander them, we will commit serious evil karma and will bring obstacles to our own practice.To be on the safe side, we must maintain a pure view of everyone."Silence is gold, eloquence is silver", so everyone should try to remain silent and not comment on others casually.

Among the great monks and masters in the Han area, there are actually many incarnations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.For example, Monk Du Shun was the first ancestor of the Huayan Sect in China. He had many magical deeds in his life and was called the incarnation of Manjushri Bodhisattva.When Monk Du Shun was alive, he was noble in morality and did not follow external factors. He went up the mountain to cultivate land during the day and returned to the temple to recite the "Avatamsaka Sutra" at night. This is the case every day.He had a disciple who had been studying the Dharma with him for more than ten years. He had a great faith at first, but after a long time, he saw Master farming during the day and reciting the "Avatamsaka Sutra" at night. He felt that this was very common and there was nothing to learn. It would be better to go to Mount Wutai to worship Manjushri Bodhisattva and seek wisdom.

He asked Master, and Master said, "No need to go, practicing here is the same as going to Mount Wutai to worship Manjushri Bodhisattva."The disciple did not understand what Master meant and repeatedly asked, "Master, I have made a vow to look up to the mountain. Please be kind and fulfill my wish."When the master saw that he had decided to leave, he promised.Before leaving, he handed him two letters, one to Mrs. Qing and the other to Mrs. Zhu, and asked him to send them by the way.

The disciple accepted the letter and set off immediately.I asked along the way by the address on the letter and found Mrs. Qing, but I didn't expect that she was a prostitute.He was very surprised: "How could Master have a friend who is a prostitute?" But the envelope clearly stated to her, so he still gave it to her.The prostitute took the letter, opened it and said, "I understand, my work has been done, and it's time to leave now."After saying that, he passed away while sitting.The disciple found it strange and picked up the letter and looked at it. The letter said, "Guanyin, I'm done now and I'm leaving. You can go with me too."It turns out that Miss Qing is Guanyin Bodhisattva.But he hasn't woken up yet.

He continued to rush forward and found the pig mother at the address of the second letter. It turned out that it was a pig.After receiving the letter, the old pig mother arched her nose and looked at it, and she died on the spot.The disciple felt strange again and picked up the letter and saw it. It read: "Saoxian, I'm done now and I'm leaving. You can go with me too."But this stupid disciple is not yet awakened.

Later, he went to the foot of Mount Wutai and met an old man and asked him, "What are you doing in Mount Wutai?" He replied, worshiping Manjushri Bodhisattva.The old man said, "Your master is Manjushri Bodhisattva. If you don't apprentice to Master, you come from all the way to worship Manjushri. You are really looking for distance!" After that, you disappeared.Only then did he realize it suddenly, so he immediately turned around and quickly went back to see his master.But when he arrived at the temple, his master had passed away for a long time.

It can be seen that Manjushri Bodhisattva, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva save all living beings in different ways. The incarnation of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is incredible, among all living beings, among prostitutes, among the great monks and great masters. Unfortunately, many people do not recognize them.A virtuous master was always unknown and no one cared about during his lifetime, and his disciples did not know his merits. Once the master passed away, he remembered the master's greatness, but he never saw him again, leaving only endless memories and regrets.

Therefore, when we meet a monk in the future, even if he seems to be in accordance with the law, don’t talk about his faults, otherwise we may commit serious evil deeds.If you are trying to maintain Buddhism and have no selfishness, it may not be a big problem to say that the other party’s fault is in this case.In addition, do not slander people wearing monk's robes anyway.No matter how bad a person is, as long as he is wearing the robe of the Tathagata, even if he is a follower of the Buddha, we cannot say his faults.Now some lay Buddhists don’t speak, but they just tell the monk’s faults as soon as they open their mouths. These people really have deep karma.
