A wise release person, write to you who are releasing animals!

Buddhist stories 2016-01-16

When I went to buy small fish and birds, I always looked down on the seller and had a arrogant attitude at work: You poor people who don’t understand cause and effect will be punished sooner or later in the future if you do this evil deed of fishing and killing birds! When I arrived at the vegetable market, I saw the butcher throwing fish and killing fish, and I couldn't help but curse in my heart: You will go to hell in the future! So although releasing animals brings me great spiritual happiness and almost complete recovery of physical diseases, I occasionally have some troubles due to my delusions and attachments, and sometimes even think: I keep releasing, and the seller keeps arresting when he gets benefits. Isn’t this a vicious cycle?!Where should I go?

Finally, I met a wise release person like a Buddha and Bodhisattva, and his words and deeds deeply touched me.

It was a winter morning, and I went to the flower and bird market to buy sparrows as usual, including guerrilla stalls and licensed vendors.Just when I was about to pay, I suddenly heard a man behind me say:

Master, did you catch this cage of sparrows yourself?

Yes, boy, please buy a few.

It's so cold and you're old, so it's not easy to catch these little guys, right?

Alas, when people are old, they have a sick and elderly wife at home, and their lives are not easy, so they can only do this lack of money.

Do you think I can buy all 500 yuan enough?

If you buy so many, are you releasing them?

Yes, do you think that the money is enough?

Haha, it’s good to release animals.Sold to you, boy

Thank you!Can I ask you for a favor?

OK, don't be polite

Can we release animals together?

ah?!What did you say?!I!

Yes, old Bodhisattva, it’s you. Come on, let us both go home now.

Oh, OK...good.

The old man opened the cage door, and the hands that had sent the birds into the cage were trembling with excitement.

In an instant, the little sparrows rushed to the sky, each making crisp chirping, which formed a sharp contrast with the dejected look in the cage. The onlookers couldn't help but exclaim, "Hey, it's great!”

Thank you, old Bodhisattva!May Amitabha Buddha bless your whole family with health and happiness! The young man said.

I...The old man was filled with tears and his tone was choked: I have come into contact with many people who released animals, but you are something I have never seen before.I never thought I would release the animals myself. I just wanted to catch birds and exchange them for money and treat my wife, so I didn't have to worry about anything else. But today I have become a good person and a meritorious master.

Old Bodhisattva, can we dedicate the merits of releasing animals to your wife today?May she recover as soon as possible in the compassionate light of Amitabha Buddha!

good! ! !

At this time, the people around them all clasped their hands together and closed their eyes and prayed silently. . .

I was also in the crowd of dedication, so moved that I couldn't speak, so I could only pray in my heart silently. Some little sparrows that had not flown far also stopped on the surrounding branches, chirping, as if they also wanted to express their gratitude.

Young man, you can take back these 300, but these birds are not worth so much money.

Old Bodhisattva, please take it to treat the aunt.In fact, every bird cannot be measured by money because life is priceless.I have some real materials for releasing animals and chanting Buddha's name to cure stubborn diseases and bringing health and longevity. Can I make a connection with you?Amitabha?

OK, I will definitely see it when I go back!Ah...Mi...Buddha!

Until today, I can still clearly recall the warm scene. Later, I asked the young man for many doubts I encountered in studying Buddhism. He was very compassionate and the weather was so cold that he patiently answered it for nearly an hour. What I remember most is:

“We release animals, and we release parents from past lives. Are those sellers who catch birds and fish also our parents from past lives? We cannot just focus on accumulating merits and virtues, but we just pay and leave. If our relatives were committing the evil karma of arresting and reselling sentient beings, we would definitely try our best to persuade them to change their behavior, because the cause and effect are too powerful and no one can escape. We are Buddhist disciples, and first of all, we believe in cause and effect deeply. But why would someone else turn to be indifferent or even scold him?Haven’t we been reciting the scriptures in the Diamond Sutra that “there is no self, no human form, no sentient being form, and no life form”?We must offer all sentient beings as mothers, so that the Buddha's wisdom and Dharma dew can drip into the eight consciousnesses of each sentient being, and sincerely wish them to break through ignorance and be enlightened, get rid of suffering and gain happiness as soon as possible, and no longer create karma and receive retribution or reincarnation.

Don’t look at other people’s faults. Making mistakes is not scary. What is scary is ignorance, which means not knowing that you are making mistakes. Therefore, we also have faults if others have faults! What happened? He did not know that he was committing evil deeds and would suffer in the future.

You see, many of these stall owners are new faces. In the past, the old Bodhisattvas were reluctant to do fishing birds to make money, because sentient beings are originally Buddhas. If we explain the truth, their ignorance and dirt will be washed away, and the brilliance of Buddha nature will be revealed. Instead, they buy millet to the park to feed birds and protect their lives. There are also some stall owners who really cannot explain it for the time being, so we will dedicate the merits of releasing animals to him, hoping that he will develop the Bodhi heart as soon as possible, break through the mystery and become enlightened. As for those new stall owners, they are our new fellow Taoists, and this is the temple where we preach the Dharma!

Our enemies are ignorance, not relatives who are still ruthlessly tortured by ignorance!!!One day, when we release animals, we will release them until there is no birth, because everyone is enlightened to protect their lives, right?”

In the cold wind, his back gradually blurred, and I was glad that I saw the Buddha and Bodhisattva today. . . . . .

Even the hawker who is obsessed with greed is also a suffering sentient being, and his wisdom and virtue are insufficient. This is the most suffering sentient being.

The Buddha wants to save these most suffering sentient beings.

If we understand the Buddha's heart, we will not despise or arrogant people who do evil.
