It’s not easy to let others go!

It's even harder to let go of yourself.

20Years ago, I tried to let go of my grudges with others.

Today, I am still entangled with myself.

Back then, Zen Master Yan Yang had a conversation with Zen Master Zhaozhou:

Yan Yang: On the road of cultivation, after giving up everything, what should we do next?

Zhaozhou: Let go.

Yan Yang: I have already empty hands, what else do I have to let go?

Zhaozhou: If you can’t let go, just provoke it!

Letting go is a state, not a method.This method can be mastered by everyone.

Because it is a state, it is not owned by everyone.

Someone once said that if you let go, flowers will bloom in an instant.Then, it can also be said that if you let go, you will smile in an instant.

I am very mechanical, because of my poor wisdom.In my impression or perception, letting go means putting down your burden and giving up your burden;It is to follow the circumstances and be convenient;Just be more open-minded and willing to give up;Just be more compassionate and tolerant;It is to be careless about fame, wealth, wealth, sex, and see through birth, old age, sickness and death;Just be more at ease and quiet;It means closing the six senses and cutting off the six dusts;It is to crush the chains of troubles and dismantle the twelve links of dependent origination;It means not to tie yourself up or lose yourself, but to be yourself and find yourself.

Many times, this is not the case with us.

We are swayed by desire, and we are obsessed with obsession.So, we don’t know who we are, and who we are.The description of our lives is determined by tombstones and eulogies, but it is not ourselves who write the eulogies and tombstones.So, we are just a dynamic character, no longer our own master, we are always synonyms for others.When we were kids, whose sons were we;Then, who is the student, whose employee, whose husband, whose father;Then, it may be whose grandfather, or even who has become his enemy and enemy.Although, sometimes, we pretend, we pretend, and we pretend that we are ourselves.

It can be seen how difficult it is to let go of others and how difficult it is to let go of yourself.

If we pursue letting go, this is how it is.Then, we might as well follow Zen Master Zhaozhou: If you can’t let go, just provoke it.To provoke and let go;To provoke and to suffice;To provoke, to let go.

Once upon a time, Zen Master Daoji was a monk and layman. Someone went to the abbot to make a comment and asked the abbot to stop him.The abbot said: Buddhism is so vast, can’t it be enough to tolerate a monk?The instructor was speechless when he heard this.

It is said that Master Huike, the second ancestor of Dongtu Zen Buddhism, was invisible to the Buddhist temple and mingled with people in the market after 30 years of preaching the Dharma to the third ancestor.Sometimes it appears on the streets and alleys and talks with people;Sometimes I appear in shops and farmhouses and work with others.Someone who knew it asked him: Master, you are a monk, why is this?The second ancestor, Zen Master Huike, said: I will regulate my mind, what does it have to do with you!

I'm very curious, is this to let go?Or provoke?

I remember that Zen Master Kuoan Shiyuan said: Hurry up and pull out the weeds to pursue, the water is wide, the mountains are deeper, the road is deeper, the strength is exhausted, there is nowhere to find it, but I heard the maple tree and cicadas chirping in the evening!This is his "Ten Ox Pictures" of the Search for the Ox.Yes, where to find a cow?Where to find a cow?There is no cow to find, because there is no cow to find!In this world, there is nothing to let go and nothing to provoke. We don’t have to carry a boat across the river, and we don’t have to cross the river anyway.Now, we are doing this, we are here, the direction of our heart is our direction, and as the direction of our heart, I think, we will meet our lovely selves.

Meeting yourself means letting yourself go!

If you let yourself go, you will let others go.
