In the "Great Treasure Sutra", there is a passage that tells the story of the Virgin of Miaohui.
The virgin Miaohui lives in the city of Raja in Magadha. Her father is a famous elder. When she was only eight years old, she often stayed at the preaching ceremony on Mount Gridhrakuta.
The young girl has a very beautiful face and dignified and gentle behavior. No disciple under the Buddha, whether she is a virtuous elder or a young monk, doesn't like her.Especially the female monastic community of nuns, they are extremely beloved by the Virgin Miaohui.
Everyone likes Miaohui Virgin. Although she is young and smart, she never expected that during a Buddha's teachings, she actually asked the Buddha about his long and shortcomings with the Bodhisattva's mind and tone, which made everyone in the meeting amazed!
Virgin Miaohui, once when the Buddha ascended to the seat and preached, she calmly walked to the Buddha first, bowed three times, and then knelt down and said to the Buddha:
"The great Buddha!You are the beacon in the world, you can turn it onAll living beingsThe darkness of the heart.The disciple has not yet fully understood what the Bodhisattva has done and is willing to ask the Buddha to ask me for an answer!”
When the Buddha saw it, he turned out to be a virgin of Miaohui. The Buddha knew her origin and thought that there was a wonderful method for Bodhisattvas and Arhats to listen to today, so he was veryjoyTell Miaohui virgin, “You are so good!Today I have a great wish and come and ask me. Now you can ask as you please!”
Ten major issues shocked everyone
After hearing the Buddha's confession, the virgin Miaohui admitted to asking her questions, and she was grateful in her heart. Needless to say, she asked ten major questions in one breath to ask the Buddha to explain: "Buddha!I have ten questions, please answer:
What method can the Buddha use to obtain a correct body?
How can the Buddha obtain a wealthy and noble body?
Buddha, how can we save our relatives from discord and death from multiple illnesses?
I would like to ask the Buddha, what are the ways to avoid the impermanent and impure body of flesh and blood born to your parents, and quickly see your own body of enjoyment and transformation, and sit on the lotus like you Buddha?
How can I ask the BuddhaProvecomfortableSupernatural powers，Can you travel around countless lands and pay homage to all Buddhas?
May I ask the Buddha, how can we not have any enemies?
Buddha, how can we make people believe in what we say?size=+0May I ask the Buddha, how can we avoid obstacles when we preach the Dharma and practice according to the Dharma?
May I ask the Buddha, whattroubleHow to subdue the devil?
May I ask the Buddha, when our first period of life ends, how can we see all Buddhas, listen to the pure Dharma, and avoid all suffering?”
Buddha's teachings forty methods
After hearing this, the Buddha praised Miaohui's problem.The Buddha prompted four methods for every question of the Virgin Miaohui.For example:
First, to obtain a correct body, you must: 1. Do not feel angry with evil friends, 2. Stay in great compassion, 3. Be happy to practice the Dharma, and 4. Create a Buddha image.
Second, how to get wealth and honor must be done: 1.Give，2. Don’t have a sloppy heart, 3. Give people a joyful mood, 4. Don’t want retribution.
Third, how can family members avoid illness and death: 1. Do not speak disparaging language, 2. Relieve evil views and people in the right faith, 3. Protect the Dharma, 4. Teach all sentient beings to become BuddhasBodhi。
Fourth, how to obtain the Buddha's body without being physically possessed by the parents: 1. The Tathagata pagoda and temple worship the fruits, 2. Do not harm others by mistake, 3. Form Buddha statues, 4. Deeply develop pure faith in Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
Fifth, how to have supernatural powers: 1. Seeing that he practices good deeds without hindrance, 2. He has never left any obstacles when he preaches;3. Burn lamps to offer to the Tathagata, 4.MeditationPractice frequently.
Sixth, how to have no enemies and enemies: 1. Get close to good friends without flattery, 2. No jealousy in the way he wins, 3. He is always happy to gain fame, 4. No light on the actions of the Bodhisattva.
Seventh, how to make people believe in their words: 1. Consistent words and deeds; 2. Do not overcome all evils in good friends; 3. Do not seek faults when listening to the Dharma; 4. Do not feel disgusted by those who preach the Dharma.
Eighth, how to promote Buddhism to get rid of all obstacles: 1. Keep the three precepts and precepts; 2. No slander will be caused by hearing profound sutras; 3. Those who have first developed aspirations will develop all wisdom; 4. Being compassionate and equal to all sentient beings.
Ninth, how to subdue the devils of afflictions: 1. Know that the nature of Dharma is equal, 2. Keep practicing diligently, 3. Keep reciting the Buddha's name, 4. All good roots are allDedication。
Tenth, the Buddhas appear at the end of their lives: 1. Complete what they want, 2. Deeply develop faith and understanding of all good deeds, 3. Giving solemn tools to all Bodhisattvas, 4. Diligently practice and offer sacrifices to the Three Jewels.
All kinds of magical excitement
The Buddha raised forty kinds of questions about the Virgin MiaohuiPracticeAfter the method, the virgin girl of Miaohui was happy and enthusiastic, and made a vow to follow it. She said: If one of the forty practices does not practice, it will violate Buddhism, and that is deceiving the Tathagata.
The Virgin Miaohui had a great wish, and the Venerable Maudgalyayana on the seat asked in a suspicious tone: “Virgin Miaohui!You know that the Bodhisattva’s practice is difficult to do, and it is difficult to endure. Can you really achieve this extraordinary vow?”
The virgin Miaohui replied peacefully: “Virgin!If my great wish is true and true, and can achieve perfection of all actions, then I wish these three thousand great thousand worlds to be shaken, the wonderful flowers of heavenly rain and the drums sound themselves, please confirm it by the Lord!”
After the Virgin Miaohui said that there were six kinds of shocks in the world, the sky was filled with colorful rain, and the drums and music were roaring.And the bodies of the people present turned golden.
Manjushri Bodhisattva also felt incredible when he saw this magical strangeness. He asked the Virgin Miaohui many questions about the Dharma nature, and the Virgin Miaohui answered them one by one.
When they stopped their questions and answers, the Buddha said, “Manjushri Bodhisattva!The Virgin Miaohui has been sent in the pastBodhicitta，It was only after thirty kalpas that I realized the supreme Bodhi.Manjushri Bodhisattva!Can't you remember it?She once served as your teacher, allowing you to live in the dysfunction of life!”
When the Buddha said this in Manjushri Bodhisattva, he felt like he suddenly realized it. He immediately got up from his seat happily, bowed to the virgin of Miaohui and said, "Great virtue!I made offerings to me countless kalpas in the past, but I didn’t expect that I will still be close today!”
The young Virgin Miaohui was bowed to him by the Great Wisdom Manjushri Bodhisattva, which shows that she has an extraordinary origin.Judging from the story of Miaohui's virginity, children should not be despised, and even beginners should not be arrogant.Seeing that he is young, can we know his past?
