15. Failure to say something to the karma of dog monks

The poem says:

He bullies the monks and scolds them, and follows them to repent and repent his sins;

This is because five hundred lives as a dog, and one word hurts people endlessly.

When Shakyamuni was preaching in the Gion Monastery, the most wisdom Venerable Shariputra, every day, used his heavenly eyes to observe the suffering sentient beings in the six realms, and saw who had good roots and conditions to be saved, and the Venerable would save him from the sea of ​​suffering.At that time, many businessmen were traveling together and going abroad to do business.One of them was a businessman with a dog to watch.When the merchants walked halfway, they were camping and resting on the roadside, the dog stole the meat carried by the merchants.Later, when the merchant discovered that everyone was very angry, they beat the dog with a wooden stick. In anger, they broke the dog's feet and then abandoned it in the wild.

At this time, Sariputra Sariputra saw the dog with his heavenly eyes, and was interrupted by the merchants. He fell seriously injured and could not walk. He was in great pain and was trapped in the wilderness and was about to starve to death.The Venerable brought food, used his magical powers to fly away, and gave food to the dog. The dog got food and could survive, and was very happy.Venerable Shariputra taught this dog subtle Dharma.After hearing the Dharma, the karma is eliminated. After it thanks the Venerable for saving his life, it will die even if it dies.After the death of a dog, he was reincarnated as a human being and was born in the Brahman family in the city of Shravas.

One day, the Venerable Shariputra begs for the Brahmin family. The Brahmin asked the Venerable: Venerable! Are you walking alone, are there no attendants? The Venerable replied: I have no attendants.I heard people say that you have a boy. Are you willing to give your child to me as a waiter? The Brahmin said: I have a son named Junti, but he is just a young child and doesn't understand anything.When he grows up, he will be a waiter for you.The Venerable agreed as he said.When the Brahmin was seven years old, Sariputra asked for it.The Brahmin was very happy and asked his sons to propose that their families be little novice monks.The Venerable took Junti back to Gion Temple, and slaughtered him as a little novice monk for the dome, and preached him.After listening to the Dharma, they all proposed that after they were open and understood, they immediately realized the path of Arhat with supernatural powers and freedom.

After Jun Ting was only seven years old, he used his supernatural powers to observe his actions in his past life, and knew that he was a hungry dog ​​in his previous life. He thanked the monk for saving his life and saved him from all suffering. Only in this life can he obtain a human body and attain the fruit of enlightenment. He was infinitely comforted and happy in his heart. In order to repay his teacher's kindness, he vowed to be a servant forever and provide for his master's needs throughout his life.

Venerable Junti said: The reason why I was born as a dog in my previous life was because of my misunderstanding and verbal karma.In the past, when I was a monk, I became a monk. At that time, many monks and I recited scriptures at the same time. I thought I was young and elegant, and I was good at singing praises, so I despised monks who could not sing.

Once, an old monk recited the sutra with a dull pronunciation, which was very unpleasant.At that time, I felt a bit contemptuous and ridiculed the old monk He said: The elder's singing and reciting sounds like a dog barking! (It would be miserable to say this! )At that time, the old monk had already attained the holy fruit of Arhat. He asked me: Young monk! Do you know me? The young monk replied: I have known each other for a monk when you were a Buddha Kashyapa.

The old monk said: Although I can’t chant, I have already obtained the suffering of escape from life and death, and have been eliminated.At that time, I heard the old monk's words and felt deeply frightened. I knew that I had lost my words, but I was ashamed of myself and asked for repentance.But the crime has been established and cannot be eliminated. From then on, I was born as a dog for five hundred years, and I will repay the retribution of the verbal karma of a dog barking.

Since I had become a monk and practiced five hundred lives ago and planted the merits and good causes of keeping precepts, I suffered from the retribution of my oral sins and was saved by Master Shariputra. Only in this life can I have such good roots, blessings, and causes and conditions to be saved and become a monk, and achieve the fruit of Arhat.

The poem says:

The dog barking suffers five hundred lives, and the slander is slandering and sinful.

Ignorance will lead to great sins, will the cause of suffering from words be alarmed?
