Right view: Whenever you encounter any right and wrong, you will always be your own fault!

Other articles 2015-03-17

A correct view that practitioners should have: whenever they encounter any right and wrong, they will always be their own mistakes. In fact, many people cannot truly accept and understand this point, and of course it is even more difficult to achieve. We always feel that we make sense and that we are right.Starting from this oneself, when encountering problems, you will complain about the external environment, blame others, and push the responsibility to the external environment. When we push the responsibility to the external environment, we protect this self, and the self does not need to be changed or undergo surgery. What you want to change is others, what you want to change is the outside world, and what you want to change is the world you face. Then, this attitude towards life will be full of blame, complaints, struggles, and arguments.Buddhism talks about disputes, and likes to use another word, with a word on the left next to the word, and a struggle on the right - disputes. The meaning of this dispute is actually that your mind falls into right and wrong, existence and non-existence, coming and going, right and wrong, you and me... etc., and falls into binary opposition.Once you fall into the binary opposition, your heart will not be quiet, and the inner heart will not be quiet, which is the inner "controversy".Maybe you don’t speak or debate with others, but you have a dispute in your heart.

Do you still remember the words in the Diamond Sutra?"The Samadhi of No Controversy", the Buddha said that Subhuti has attained the Samadhi of No Controversy.Subhuti is the first priority to understand emptiness, so the Samadhi of No Controversy is the true person who understands emptiness, and his heart is peaceful in silence. In this silence, there is no binary opposition. So, to practice the Samadhi of Non-Controversy, to enter this state, where should we start and how to practice it?In fact, what I am talking about now is a formula for practicing the Samadhi of No Controversy. It is very abstract to ask you to transcend binary opposition, and many people don’t understand it yet. The words themselves are a bit literary and academic. But let you learn to face all problems and stick to a correct view: it is always your own fault.Let you do this, it will be clear and operational.

You may say, don’t you mean to transcend binary opposition? Why are there any right and wrong? It is difficult for you to do nothing right or wrong now. The so-called transcending binary opposition is not absolutely right or wrong. Now you decide that before any problem, we will always be our own fault. There is nothing wrong with the external environment, the external environment is always right. If the mind is wrong, we ourselves are wrong.

If we say that we are wrong, we can understand it based on Buddhism, and there are many kinds of understandings. There is a saying that this is the karma created in the past, and now it is retribution. This is called deep belief in cause and effect.Believe in cause and effect deeply, so that you can calmly accept the injustice that comes to you, the pain that comes to you, and think about paying off your debts. You think, I am paying off my debts now. Maybe you owed someone a million, but you are just paying him ten yuan now. If you pay back ten yuan, you will lose more debts. If you pay back ten yuan, you will lose more. One day, you will pay back the money. If you pay back the money, you will get rid of it.By making positive observations, you will have the courage to accept and face that situation. This is the first observation that is always wrong.

The second observation, why do we inspire such an external environment? The cause and effect mentioned above are a little abstract. To put it more specifically, why we inspire such external environment is because we have an inner world that inspires external environment. What kind of external environment will appear in your life be closely related to your inner world, and this is the case, and that is the case. This inner world includes your language and behavioral habits;Including your personality;Including your psychological activities;Including your various preferences;Including the way you treat people and do things. Therefore, this exists, so that there is.This existence is the subjective aspect of our inner world and subjective aspects. That is the realm we face. There is this first and then there is that. It’s not about having that first and then there’s this. But sometimes they appear at the same time.

People who have been practicing for a long time will have a lot of experience of the inductive relationship between our mind and external environment. What kind of sensation will our heart and the external realm be?Sometimes you will experience what you are afraid of, and then you will encounter what you are worried about. This kind of induction is very interesting. This inductive relationship is very complex and there are many patterns, which are the patterns among them.Simply put, what you care about in your heart will be inspired by.This concern includes love, hate, wanting, wanting to reject, worrying, hating... and so on."Care" is a word in life, which is equivalent to a kind of persistence in our hearts.Sometimes the more you care about, the more you appear. If you have a cleanliness, you may find that you are often in dirty environments; If you are very arrogant, you may be the one next to you when you are sitting in meditation, just like a sloppy person, coughing, blowing your nose, and farting; If you are particularly stingy, you may encounter people who always ask you for money. Also, sometimes, because of your expertise in a certain aspect - we all have many expertise, which is also your subjective situation, and will also inspire external situations.Everyone in our world has strengths and weaknesses. In fact, weaknesses are sometimes strengths. The strengths may not be strengths, and strengths can also become weaknesses.I have summarized a few sentences to describe this inspiration. Please see if it makes sense."Those who are good at swimming die in water." People who are good at swimming generally die in water;"A warrior is good at fighting," usually people with martial arts and those who rely on their own strength will die in fighting;"A good at argumentative death is caused by verbal discourse." Some people are particularly good at debate and think that others can't say anything about them. The death mentioned here may not necessarily mean that people die, which is equivalent to falling into trouble. He may fall into trouble with other people's verbals, slander, and accusations. There are many other rules, you can observe them in your life.Ji Xiaolan recorded such a real story in his "Yuwei Caotang Notes", saying that in their hometown, there was a man who had great martial arts skills and good light skills. There was a river that was not very wide. The man jumped to the other side of the river, which was as easy as he could. One day, someone asked him to perform, and he jumped over here easily. When he landed on the other side of the river, the soil on the shore was loose and fell into the very urgent river and drowned. He has a strength that ordinary people don’t have, but this is the strength that ends up causing him to fall. This talks about the inspiration of our hearts and external environment.

As a practitioner, I must constantly reflect on what I care about in my inner world. As long as I care about the inner world, it is suffering. The cause of suffering will inspire suffering external conditions.Only by letting go of these inner worlds, and even some language and behavior habits, can you not be oppressed by the external suffering.

No matter what external circumstances you are facing, looking for the reasons in yourself is a very optimistic, very positive and very feasible outlook on life.Comparing what I mentioned earlier - always looking for reasons in an objective environment, this is obviously more positive, not negative;More proactive than passive;More hope rather than helpless. Why is there hope? When you start to change yourself, you will find that the world you live in has changed and the people you meet have changed.

Some people say, is it always my fault? Many things are obviously not my fault. For example, a thief stole my money on the street today. Is that my fault? That's the thief's fault. In fact, the question here is: whether others are right or wrong is his business, and whether you are right or wrong is your own business. You must first focus on your major issues. You meet thieves on the street, and there are so many people on the street, why do you meet thieves? Why did you encounter a thief at that time and place?Just like a fish will attract cats, there is a fishy smell on your body that attracts cats. This is a metaphor. You are inspired to meet a thief on the street, so this mistake is still with you. This does not mean that the issue of thieves is not something that the police can ignore, and society can ignore governance. This is not what it means. This is a matter of a related person. To the police, that is his business, and to the government, that is his business. As a practitioner, what is your business? You must understand.Basically, it’s not your fault that you can find something that is not your fault that you can find something that is not your fault. You can come to me and I can give you money. I believe it is impossible. Some people say that I am ugly, and it should be my parents’ fault.Buddhism says, there are so many good-looking parents, why do you prefer to be reincarnated with ugly parents? Then who is blamed? So there is still a problem.

Judging from the three-life cause and effect of Buddhism, our world is basically caused by ourselves, and we cannot blame the heavens or blame others. This way of thinking is something that practitioners should have. You should use this way of thinking to observe yourself, observe your life, and improve yourself.Only by starting from here can a Buddhist learner experience the manifestation of the truth of Buddhism in himself. If you do it bit by bit, you will find that the people you meet have changed, and the things you encounter have also changed. In short, the route of your destiny seems to be changing. In fact, this is the most important truth of Buddhism - consciousness-only without realm. There is no objective existence, it is the manifestation of your consciousness. If you can realize this, you will be amazing. Your practice can be said to have a foothold and can move forward steadily.

Some fellow practitioners should still remember that there is a chapter in the "Avatamsaka Sutra", called the "Pure Purity of Purity". The "Pure Purity of Purity" teaches us that when we encounter any situation, we should "wish sentient beings" and wish all sentient beings how good they are.If you encounter any situation, you will make a vow, and there are more than 140 vows in total. In fact, the situations in life are far more than one hundred and forty, but infinite. This sutra teaches us that in countless realms, we can generate a wish from this realm, wishing all living beings what they are like.If you use this sutra to guide your practice in your life, "Will you wish sentient beings...will you wish sentient beings...", you will gradually find that your mind begins to dominate the environment, and the environment cannot dominate your mind, it is your mind that dominates the environment. The situation may be that someone slapped you, and you said in your heart that you may no longer be bullied by others, and you will get a good wish; The situation may be a disease, stomachache, and very painful. Your mind says, I hope that all sentient beings will no longer suffer from stomachache.Look, a state of stomachache has been turned into a good wish by you;The situation you encounter may be that your money was stolen by a thief, so you make a vow that all sentient beings can change their evil and do good and give up bad karma. So I said that when you observe your life like this, you will experience that the mind can dominate the situation. What exactly is the situation? It depends on your heart. If you truly experience the power you dominate the external environment and the power of your mind, then you will be at ease.

In the Diamond Sutra, Sakyamuni Buddha said that when he was an immortal who was forbearing humiliation in his past life, he was dismembered by King Goli without any anger. He reached the Samadhi of No Controversy and truly achieved the Paramita of Forbearing humiliation.Paramita is perfection, and the perfection of forbearance is unmoving and a state of mind. This state is very noble. Such a state can also be cultivated from what I said before - it is always your own fault - from here.Because every day in our life, the lay people need to say that even if the monks still have right and wrong in the temple, they may still have conflicts with the people in the same ward, and they still distinguish the various states in front of us every day. If we start practicing from here, I believe that we can enter the Samadhi of Non-Controversy that transcends the dual opposition. This is the direction of our practice.

If we fall into the debate, we have to figure out who is right and who is wrong, and we have to make a difference with him - if you fall into this, you will fall into the worldly law.If you fall into worldly laws, you will never end and you will have endless suffering!
