Maybe it was because of this sentence, maybe it was because of the chance encounter in the "Yulin Fengzhai Release Festival Planning Group", which made me finally sit quietly at my desk one night and read the information related to him...
He advocated that the public read the treasures and seek Buddhist teachings;He initiated the release of animals in a vegetarian way and transformed into sentient beings.Promote the practical practice of morning and evening courses that have gathered the essence of the Three Collections to revitalize Chinese Buddhism...
When I saw this path of spreading the Dharma that integrates classics, wishes and practices, I felt a surge of joy in my heart, and the four words "rejoice and praise" became a sincere sigh.
I want to interview him - a former high-paying science and engineering man, and now a Buddhist practitioner.

From the road to the Bodhi path

Although the topic of the interview was his path to spreading the Dharma, I asked a very realistic question on the phone across the ocean: "When you graduated from Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 1994, there were very few undergraduate students in China, not to mention that it was a popular major, and it should have a bright future. Why did you choose to become a monk within a few years after graduation?“
“When I was in college, it was the qigong craze in China, and I became one of the enthusiasts…”
Rather than saying that he is obsessed with qigong, he is curious about the power that can bring people inner peace and freedom, and wants to use it to explore the truth of life.
When he graduated from university, the Shenzhen Post and Telecommunications Bureau came to the school to recruit people and chose him.In an era when a college student’s monthly living expenses cost only 100 or 200 yuan, the monthly salary offered by the other party was 4,000 yuan.
So he went south and lived a superior "quasi-golden" life - his salary continued to rise, and he soon owned his own real estate... But the problem came, in Shenzhen where the lights and wine were full of wine, he felt lonely.The philosophy, Laozi and Zhuangzi and Qigong he likes to talk about is simply out of place in the eyes of his companions there.And their favorite cups and kara OK， He is out of place with him again.
By chance, he heard that his close friend in college had interrupted his doctorate and became a monk.In addition to being shocked, he specially used his holiday to visit his old friends in the temple.The classmate of the past and the master today, the other party’s wise conversation and free mood are no longer the same as those of the past.He began to envy this old friend.“This is all the result of practicing Buddhism. Instead of envying it, you should become a monk as well."After hearing this sentence, he said the word "good" without thinking.
Rather than saying that this is a momentary impulse, it is better to say that in the cycle of reincarnation for generations, there is a kind of power that touches his thoughts.The word "good" is a promise to yourself, in order not to let down the heart that has always yearned for purity and freedom.
He was afraid that his parents would be sad, so he made a lie and said that he was going abroad and had a bright future.
He wants to resolve the confusion of life and death and benefit more people;He must learn the wisdom of harmony and realize more people.But, he couldn't bear to let his parents be sad.He would rather let them live up to this moment than let them wait in peace, but he believed that one day in the future, he would not let them down.
Being confident is one thing, but entering reality is another.After becoming a monk, he was arranged to be in the ticket office of the temple, and his daily job was to sell tickets and guard the door.From the flower world to the ancient Buddha of Qinglan, from white-collar workers with a monthly salary of thousands to ticket monks with only a monthly subsidy of fifty yuan, he can accept all these with ease, but the enlightenment and supreme wisdom he hopes for still seems to be out of reach...
A year later, the opportunity came.He successfully passed the examination after enrolling students at the Buddhist College of China.
“The entrance to China Buddhist College was a turning point in my life.There are fellow Taoists who come from all over the world to learn, and almost all the well-known monks and masters come to teach…”
This played a key role in improving his cognition and mind, expanding his horizons and consolidating his Buddhist knowledge.
“I used to practice qigong, but I always felt that my head was tightly wrapped by a ball of qi, and my mind was very slow.When I read the Prajna scriptures in Buddhist College, I knew that all dharmas were empty, the "Tight Hoop Mantra" that had bothered me for ten years disappeared.“
He truly experiences the truth of the wisdom of Buddhism.
After graduating from a graduate school in Buddhist College, he could choose Beijing and Jiangnan to spread the Dharma well, but unexpectedly went to Guangde, Anhui, which is known as a remote village.
“There seems to be no shortage of me in the best way to spread the Dharma. At that time, Anhui Guangde was still very weak in its foundation in Buddhism, and people's understanding of Buddhism was still at the level of superstition... "
It was like from Shenzhen to the small temple in Shenshan, this time he came to the small temple in Shenshan from Beijing.His life always seems to be moving from "high" to low", but every time he condescends and lets go, he has brought about a broader life pattern.
In this place where the economy and culture are huge and there is no sense of identity with Buddhism, he has received a lot of training and gained a lot. His unmoving ability to endure humiliation may have been cultivated since then.

2015On Qingming Festival, Kuan saw the master return to his ancestral home in Guangxi to attend his father's third-year festival. "After the sacrifice, I invited everyone in my family to eat vegetarian food, and told everyone how many people can come, and I will pay for everyone.My hometown is Hepu County, Beihai, Guangxi. Locals are used to eating meat, especially seafood, and their killing karma is quite serious.That night, seventy or eighty people came.The vegetarian taste is pretty good due to the support of local mages.Everyone has eaten vegetarian food, and I sent me a gift for getting along again, and they are all very happy.I will teach them Buddhism and life, and they also love to listen to it very much.In this process, a new method of releasing animals took shape in my mind.”Master Kuanjian's successful experience of treating people to vegetarian food made him realize that this was a way to treat others to vegetarian food to release animals in a pot-like manner - the concept of "release animals in the vegetarian food" gradually matured in his heart.It can be said that this is also the concept of compassion that was born from the bride of the filial piety.On April 18, after returning to Beijing, the monk formally proposed the innovative method of releasing animals in the Tiankai Temple Lecture Hall.
2015In July 2008, Kuan saw his master's younger brother die. He went to Dongguan to deal with the funeral. He ate and released animals in his younger brother's name, contacted 100 restaurants, invited the public to eat vegetarian food and preach the Dharma...

2016Nian Kuan saw the master return to his hometown to visit the grave.Unlike the first time when the place was recommended to release animals in Fengzhai, there was almost no mobilization. The number of people participating in Fengzhai was twice as high as the last time. Even some heretics participated enthusiastically, and even the local religious bureau was alarmed.After serving the veterinary school, he started from ordinary life and taught the Dharma to the villagers. It was already dark and everyone was still fascinated by listening and refused to leave.
The "release of animals" that once criticized the society for its improper methods. In Master Kuanjian's creation of "release of animals in vegetarian food", more people tried vegetarian food and liked vegetarian food, and increased the acceptance and influence of Buddhism.The most fundamental way to release animals and save compassion, a healthy lifestyle and a wise outlook on life, releasing animals in the vegetarian way has entered more and more people's hearts.
2016In October 2019, under the leadership of Master Kuanjian, a creative mountain began.We set out from Guangde, Anhui, read and store all the way, served vegetarian food all the way, and looked towards the mountains all the way.
“In the morning, we recite the Shurangama Mantra together, walk during the day, and stay in a hotel to read and read. If we have the opportunity, we will preach to the vegetarian and release animals..."
One night, they read and preached at Xuancheng Hotel, and curious hotel staff also joined in and listened with relish.He took the opportunity to say, I'll pay for some vegetarian food tomorrow, and I'll call your friends to come and eat it.Several employees were very happy, but a person who looked like a leader was hesitant and finally reluctantly agreed.
At noon the next day, several friends of employees were vegetarians with fellow Taoists who followed the monks to eat vegetarian food and listened to them telling the story of releasing animals in vegetarian food and was very moved.
The master took the opportunity to ask: Is it good to eat vegetarian food?
“good"
“I have a request, I would like to eat vegetarian food for another day, raise my hand.“Many people raised their hands.
The master asked again: "People who are willing to eat vegetarian food for three days raise their hands.“There are many fewer people raising their hands.
The master said, "It doesn't matter, it's difficult to eat vegetarian food by yourself, it's easy to invite others to eat vegetarian food.I would like to ask one to raise my hand... I would like to ask three to raise my hand... "This time, the number of people raising their hands has not decreased much.
Since then, the local Fengzhai release animals was actually carried out under the leadership of those employees and friends...the response includes the leader who was hesitant about employees' participation in Fengzhai at the beginning.

“Morning and evening homework is the essence of the Three Collections and Twelve Divisions, and is the crystallization of the efforts of ancestors of all dynasties. It can be said that it is widely used in various temples in the southeast, west and northwest of our Han Buddhism. It is also very familiar to us monks and many lay Buddhists.However, in modern times, including now, many people have not realized the special significance of morning and evening homework, so that some people just regard it as completing tasks, or even just perfunctory things, and have not realized that it is a particularly special method of practical practice.It contains clear sequences and false inheritance. We do not truly realize the meaning of such practice that we can practice deeply and even apply every day.So this year we will try to promote this second lesson that reflects the essence of Chinese Buddhism at the right time...We must have confidence in Chinese Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism. We have been circulated for more than 2,000 years, and have produced so many ancestors and saved so many people. Our Master Xuanzang, Master Zhizhe, Master Sixth Patriarch, Master Jianzhen, and even the four great monks in modern times. There are also many monks in contemporary times, and we have no reason not to be confident.“

From high-paid white-collar workers in the workplace in Shenzhen to confused monks in the ticket booths in temples, from talented students in Buddhist colleges, to monks who have been cursed in remote small temples, from advocating public reading, vigorously promoting the release of animals, and then spreading the two lessons of morning and evening, he truly practiced the Bodhi path of seeking Buddhism, transforming sentient beings, and revitalizing the Chinese tradition... When you walk this path with him, you will find that the world in your heart is getting longer and longer, so big that you can use wisdom and compassion to accompany all the people you love and hate to grow up, to transcend the boundaries of the Dharma sects, and spread the vast "big Buddhism" to the hearts of countless people, including yourself...
The wind blows and the road is everywhere, searching up and down
Be generous and wise, see the true bodhi

Towards the end of the interview, Master Kuanjian talked to me about the "Linglei Interview". I said, "I am not interested in writing my own stories and emotions, but I want to use a pen to spread the wisdom and wishes of the monks and wise men..."
The master said, "Your aspiration is very good..." Then, he used a compassionate and highly absorbing tone to lead me to pronounce the dedication text. He recited one sentence, and I repeated it... So, the following words that have been read thousands of times echoed in the time and space thousands of miles apart, deeply imprinting in the heart:
