Dear President Sakamoto, dear fellow practitioners, good afternoon everyone!Maosen came here two years ago to discuss Buddhism with fellow practitioners from the Tokyo Pure Land Sect Society. Time flies very quickly, and it took nearly two years to part.This time, Master Master ordered Ms. I came to Biwa Lake in Kyoto to attend an international forum of "Water and Peace" hosted by Dr. Katsushi Emoto. On behalf of Mr. Master, I gave an English speech, so I came to Japan to meet with fellow practitioners again. Ms. I also felt very happy.Although Japan does not come often, we studied with the same master together. In fact, we have never been separated from the path to Bodhi.President Sakamoto was very compassionate and asked Mo Xue to take some time this afternoon to chat with everyone. He said he wanted me to give me a lecture.I said I didn’t dare to give it a lesson, so I talked to everyone about Buddhism and exchanged my experience in learning.If you have any questions about cultivation, you are welcome to raise them. You can raise them at any time. Let us discuss them together. Through discussion and exchange, we will be able to improve.As everyone is planning this issue, I will give you a few words first.

When studying Buddhism, many people think that after studying for a period of time, they seem to be unable to be effective, and they often become lazy and unable to use their skills.What's going on?This phenomenon often occurs. In the past, I often had such ups and downs. Sometimes I suddenly became diligent and could chant Buddha's name and listen to sutras day and night;But sometimes I am really lazy, and I dare not imagine the degree of slackness. Sometimes I even have negligence and worries that are happening, and I can't control myself.This kind of ups and downs is certainly a very normal phenomenon, because after all, we are ordinary people, and it is definitely impossible for us to keep moving forward on the road to learning Buddhism.First of all, we must make sure that the direction is correct, that is, we learn from our master. The path guided by our master is completely pure, and we decide to help us achieve life and death, escape from the cycle of reincarnation in this life, and obtain the great joy of nirvana after all.But on this road, we must also admit that we have many deep habits of trouble after all. The so-called "frozen three feet is not a cold one day." It also snows in Tokyo in winter. It will take a long time to melt the snow. It is impossible to melt it in one or two days. Then it is not easy for our habits to melt.If you have a clear direction in Buddhism, you also know how to practice. In the process of eliminating habits, this is a psychological struggle process, which may be very painful, but we need to do it seriously ourselves.As the saying goes, "The fragrance of plum blossoms comes from the bitter cold, and the blade comes from the sharpening." If we really want to be effective in our kung fu, we must indeed survive this difficult period, and in the end we will have joy in the Dharma.As long as the joy of Dharma comes out, even the nine cows cannot pull you back, and you will be able to go straight to the Bodhi Avenue.

My own feeling is how to quickly obtain joy in the Dharma so that our kung fu is not easy to regress. What are the tips?I am really ashamed to study myself. It has been more than ten years since I met Master for the first time in 1992 and started learning the scriptures and teachings. Until now, it has been eighteen years, and it has been nearly twenty years, and the progress has been very, very slow.But in the midst of progress, I feel that I have made a lot more progress than I did ten years ago. Now I have really tasted a little bit of joy in Dharma and am very energetic about studying Buddhism. It seems that I really feel that there is nothing in this world that is more happy and more interested than studying Buddhism.Where did this joy start?I felt a watershed, that is, I'm in the second 00At the end of six years, that year, I decided to put down my work and go to study with my master.Work, indeed, if we are not enlightened, we also find it very proud.Because I used to be a professor at a university, and at the University of Queensland, I had a good salary, had a very comfortable life, and lived a very comfortable life.But at that time, Master encouraged me to come out to spread the Dharma and benefit sentient beings, and to regard spreading the Dharma as the most important mission in my life and to save myself and others.At that time, I made up my mind and of course I had to let go. Of course, I would like to put down my things a little bit, which means letting go of my work. This is something outside of my body, and things outside of my body are the easiest to let go of.You see, the master who led the people in the Buddhist temple always mentioned a sentence, let us "let go of everything in the body and mind world."The body is the body, the mind is all the delusions in our hearts, and the world is something outside of our body.Things outside the body are the easiest to let go, and start from this easiest way.As a result, once I let go, I immediately felt that I was really at ease and my whole body and mind were relaxed.This kind of experience is very valuable, and this kind of experience is joy of Dharma.

So later I realized that if we want to learn Buddhism, we must obtain this kind of experience.Of course, experience is obtained through you letting go, but some experiences are big and some are small.For example, when you are really tired, you relax and meditate all over your body, and then hum this Buddha's name easily and freely. After 15 minutes, you will feel relieved all over your body. This is an experience.I believe everyone here should have this kind of experience, right?I suddenly felt much more relaxed, which was easier than sleeping for two hours, and it was better for my mental recovery.Although this experience is very small and very short, if you have this experience, this experience will become a driving force for you to practice the next time you recite the Buddha's name. To put it bluntly, it is tempting, which attracts you to continue reciting the Buddha's name next time.So we must often get such an experience, which does not come from the outside.The external experience, the experience of enjoyment of the five desires and six dusts, is just a stimulus, and does not help much to our Dharma body and wisdom life, but rather an obstacle.You must experience the freedom and joy of Dharma that come out of your heart.

Especially in Japan, Japan, we generally talk about pressure. Work pressure and life pressure are heavier than in other countries and regions. Everyone may have a little more burdens. This kind of experience of letting go is very important.We will give you a report tonight. I want to let you experience some experience in the report and truly experience the incredible method of chanting Buddha's name. As long as you can recite the Buddha's name for fifteen minutes in your heart, you will feel the joy of Dharma that flows from the depths of your heart.Of course, if you are at home, if you are not serious enough and sincere enough, the effect will not be very great.During our joint practice, we can revitalize this sincere heart. If we can have this sincere heart to chant the Buddha's name, the effect will be much greater than usual, and the pressure in our hearts will be easily released.That belongs to negative energy, throws it away.There are also physical diseases, such as pain, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, or some diseases. You can turn it around by chanting Buddha’s name.

After I got off the plane today, President Sakamoto and Mr. Lou came to the high-speed rail station. I got off the high-speed rail station and he came to pick me up. We talked about this issue in the car.It is now that my master gave me a mission, which is a great mission, so I will repeat the "Avatamsaka Sutra" in the future.This is a big project. Look at the Master’s lecture on the "Avatamsaka Sutra". He has been talking about it for twelve years. He started on May 18, 1998. How much has he talked about it now?Less than one-third of it, he probably has to talk about this speed for thirty years.What should I say about the "Avatamsaka Sutra"?I have been thinking about it all, of course, in principle, we should use repeated speeches, which means that what the Master and the Elderly say, we should also say what we should say.But when we talk again, we must also think of the question of opportunity. What kind of roots do sentient beings in modern society have?It can be said that this kind of root is no longer as good as those here.For example, sentient beings ten years later, and sentient beings twenty years later, are all young people today. Look at what kind of education they received when they were young?It is different from the education we received when we were young, so the thoughts of their generation are more complicated than us and their doubts are heavier than us.What the Buddha said, is there any basis for what the Buddha said?Take out the proof of what the Buddha said!Yes or no?Modern people receive these scientific education and often say they get certificates.

What is this proof?I was wondering how to prove the mysterious meanings and principles mentioned in the "Avatamsaka Sutra" by science?This is a challenge we face in the future spread of Dharma.This time I attended the forum held by Dr. Emoto. I have a lot of inspiration. Dr. Emoto uses water crystals to prove that people's thoughts have an impact on water crystals.In fact, this principle is explained too clearly in the "Avatamsaka Sutra", which is called "only manifested by the mind and transformed by the consciousness". All realms are created by the mind, the realms are created by the mind, and the realms are transformed by the mind. Therefore, what kind of thoughts do you have will produce what kind of reactions it will produce.But when he expresses it and proves it in a scientific way, people are very accepting.

There is also an American scholar who has done many experiments recently and found that human mind power can indeed change matter.He used several experiments, one, he used leaves, and he found that people used their mind power, for example, I kept giving out ideas about this leaf and keeping it green.Some of the same leaves do not accept such thoughts, and some of them accept their thoughts. The leaves that accept their thoughts are indeed greener for a much longer time than the leaves that do not accept their thoughts.Then he used this idea to talk about the seeds. In his idea was the seedlings that grew after the seeds germinated. They were the seeds of wheat. This wheat was taller than ordinary wheat, so he made this idea.As a result, the same kinds of seeds were planted in the same field and found that the seeds that received the thoughts did indeed grow after germination, which was much higher than the seeds that did not accept the thoughts, and some were 50% higher.He used people to do experiments, and he saw if his thoughts could give them ***region brings peace.He used Sri Lanka to experiment. Sri Lanka has been in a state of civil strife and civil war for a long time. As a result, they mobilized thousands of people to use their ideas together. This idea is that this area needs peace and peace.It was found that two or three weeks later, the number of deaths and injuries in the civil war decreased significantly. In the last few weeks, they signed a peace agreement in the local area and the civil war ended.

This gives us a deep inspiration. What does the experiments we just talked about mean?It is true, as mentioned in the "Avatamsaka Sutra", the environment of all the right and dependent retribution is transformed by our minds.Of course, this scholar only showed the results for us, but he did not explain the truth as clearly as the Buddhist scriptures. It is difficult for him to understand it so deeply without reading the Buddhist scriptures.After we read the Buddhist scriptures, we have a deeper experience than him.In fact, this kind of experiment can be used in any aspect, so I think that the best idea among this idea is to recite Amitabha Buddha, this great name for all virtues.This great name is the name of the self-nature. The treasure of the self-nature contains all virtues, and all kinds of virtues are immeasurable and boundless merits. If you use this Buddha name, it is equivalent to opening this treasure with a key.

Can we cure diseases by chanting Buddha’s name?Now we have also seen many examples of this. It is true that chanting Buddha's name can cure diseases.You see "Shanxi Xiaoyuan". I don't know if you have seen this movie?There were more than 40 people, some of whom were patients with advanced cancer. The doctor said they were no longer saved, but they went home to recite the "Ksitigarbha Sutra" and read it every time.We can also do experiments to make it more scientific. I think if there is such a cancer patient who extracts the cancer cell and divides it into two bottles, and then we will use it as two samples, one sample puts it aside and ignores it, and the second sample chants the Buddha's name desperately, and then go to the test to see if the cancer cell content of the two samples is different. This is science.Or, for example, if a person has a high blood pressure, I think there may be more Japanese people with high blood pressure because of heavy pressure, right?How to treat high blood pressure?You don’t need to take medicine, because it’s very troublesome to stop taking Western medicine when you take high blood pressure, and your blood pressure will rise as soon as you stop.It mechanically lowers blood pressure. As long as you don’t eat it, it will not be able to suppress it and jump higher and more dangerously. This side effect is too great.If you can lower your blood pressure by chanting Buddha's name, that would be great.Unfortunately, I didn't have a blood pressure monitor this time. I have an electronic device for blood pressure measuring. It is very light and small. It is made in mainland China. It is clipped on your hand and inflated. After filling, it will slowly release it. It shows high pressure and low pressure, which is very convenient.If we can do a field test, please come out of high blood pressure and sit here. Let’s chant the Buddha’s name with him. Before chanting the Buddha’s name, measure his blood pressure first, and measure his blood pressure again after chanting the Buddha’s name to see if there is any significant difference.This is scientific experiment, which can bring proof.

Because I used to teach in college, I often do research and write papers.The so-called scientific experiments are actually just expressing these very ordinary principles using a so-called data method or experimental method.Like science, you need to be more scientific and find a thousand such hypertensive patients, and at the same time measure the blood pressure before and after chanting Buddha's name, calculate the statistical data, see what the average blood pressure is, see how much their standard variance is, and then calculate one statistic, It’s statistics, and then you see if it’s significant or not significant, this is a scientific experiment.So I thought that in the future, we need to use this method to spread the Dharma, so that everyone can see it. This is true evidence in front of him, and he can develop faith.Faith is the mother of the Taoist merits. Buddhism must first talk about this faith. Only by faith can you enter. If you don’t believe it, you will be a layman.Many people who teach Buddhism in universities and have been teaching Buddhism all their lives may understand all these great sutras and treatises, and they can even explain them, but have they truly entered the Dharma?No, still a layman.Why?He doesn't believe it, and it can only be called Buddhism.If you really believe it, this is learning Buddhism.

Our problem now is that we lack confidence.This faith is the key to learning Buddhism. If you have firm confidence, it can be said that you have half of your success in studying Buddhism.Because of what?Having grasped the direction, the path you are taking is right, and all that is left is to cut off your habits.Habits, as long as you are willing to make a decision, will definitely decrease slowly, and may fluctuate, but the decision is that habits become less and less.However, if you do not have confidence, you will definitely not be single-minded and you are not determined to leave, it will definitely be difficult to achieve.Therefore, the "Avatamsaka Sutra" talks about so many principles, which actually encourages our faith. If we firmly believe in it and unwavering, we will enter the position of faith.The Avatamsaka Sutra says that the first one is the ten stages of faith, then the ten stages of abide by the ten stages of abstinence, the ten stages of abstinence, the ten stages of abstinence, the wonderful enlightenment, and the fifty-two levels. The wonderful enlightenment means becoming a Buddha and a perfect Buddha.The first thing is faith, and only faith can enter the sea of Buddhism.

Let’s think about whether we have enough confidence?Not to mention those who have studied Buddhism for more than ten years, you see, it looks like our master. He often mentions this allusion in his preaching, becomes a monk, takes precepts, teaches in a Buddhist college, and then comes back to see the teacher.When Mr. Li Bing saw him, he pointed at him and said: You must believe in Buddhism, you must believe in Buddhism!This letter was so important, and told him that there were many old monks who had become monks all their lives, but in the end they still didn't believe it.All the problems are actually due to insufficient confidence.So this time I come, I also hope to help you strengthen your confidence. As long as you have confidence, there are no obstacles that cannot be overcome.There is no karma that cannot be eliminated, no troubles that cannot be eliminated, and no result that cannot be achieved.Even Buddhahood can be achieved, not to mention that if we want to get the joy of learning Buddhism, we will definitely get it.

This confidence is the fastest thing you get from experience.How to get faith?Generally speaking, by understanding the truth, listening to the sutras and Dharma, if you listen to the sutras more and understand the truth more, your faith will be enhanced, but this path will be longer;The second way is that you need to experience it, and experience means you gain some benefits.Just like what we just said, the simplest experience, you said that the great name of all virtues is OK, sit down and recite the Buddha for fifteen minutes. Can you experience it?This is true, I feel relaxed and at ease. It is indeed very good to recite the Buddha's name, and I have to recite it more.Look, it pushes you to continue going down.This experience is something you have to do and do experiments, and then you will get it. It is true that what the Buddha said is right, and you have proved what the Buddha said.

Like Master, I encouraged me to follow the path of spreading the Dharma and told me that I don’t have to worry.Because I am the only son of the family, I have to support five elderly people, so what should the elderly do if I don’t have a job?I don’t think much about it. It’s always easy to do by myself, and I’m not tired from home. I’m young now and can do anything, but there’s no problem. But what should the elderly do?Master encouraged me and said that he told Master Zhangjia that you really want to do Buddhism and sentient beings, and you don’t need to worry about all these things, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have arranged them well for you.You have to experience this principle and see if it is like this. You have to make proofs. This is scientific and experimental.Then I'll try it out and see if it's like this.I quit my job and really do it. After quitting, I will see if it fulfilled what the Master said, so I don’t have to worry about it?As a result, I really didn't worry.

Now all five of my old men are alive.My grandfather, my grandmother, my grandmother was 92 years old, my grandmother was 89 years old, my father was 70 years old, my mother was 66 years old, and my father and mother divorced in the early years. My father later started a family, and my concubine mother was both retired, and I supported them.As a result, the five old men now have their own place. Grandpa and my mother moved to Yunnan to live there. There are family homes for fellow practitioners. Several like-minded fellow practitioners chant Buddha's name together and practice together. My mother also lives there, and my grandpa also lives there.My father and my concubine stayed in a temple in Guangdong, seeking rebirth, and chanting Buddha's name for rebirth.My grandma likes to be in her hometown.So we all got what we wanted. In every place, fellow practitioners took care of him. They went there spontaneously, and we didn’t even know the people we took care of.Then I truly acknowledge what Master said, saying that if we truly serve the Dharma and sentient beings, your family will be taken care of by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, which is a hundred times better than if you take care of them.They are indeed happier now than before, and each one is very supportive of me.

This is experience, proving that these do not require any worries. In advance, the worries are all delusions, and you must let go of these delusions.This experience increases confidence when you see it.Then I will know that I am not afraid of letting go. The more you let go, the more you get, the more you are free, and the faster you progress in the Bodhi path.Then the faster you make progress, the more you can help sentient beings, the greater your merits you have cultivated, and the more you can help your family and relatives in this life, and this faith will come.So I thought that modern people need to experience it. In the past two days, I really want to do these experiments to see if everyone can cooperate. Let’s work together to prove that the environment in the "Avatamsaka Sutra" is created by the mind, and the environment changes with the mind.

Aren’t there disasters everywhere now?How to resolve disasters and how to resolve earth’s warming?I had an experiment two years ago. I asked a fellow practitioner from Malaysia to help him. He took some ice at home and divided it into three large pieces. This was the same water-burned ice, put it on three plates, and then see how quickly they melt.Of course this is the same ice, the same water, the same room temperature, and it should melt at the same rate.But now we add different thoughts to it. One disc of the ice is ignored. One disc of the ice is recited by Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva. Another disc of the ice is to add a thought to say that you melt slowly, don’t be so fast.As a result, it was found that the ice on both plates of ice that were filled with thoughts and those who recited Guanyin Bodhisattva melted much slower than the ice that ignored it, and the whole time it melted was 30%.You see, this is doing experiments, and anyone can do it, this is an experience.

I also want to do some experiments this time to prove the truth of the Huayan Sutra.First, chanting Buddha's name can indeed cure diseases.No matter what disease you have, of course the simplest one. It is better if you have a specific one. You may not know what disease you have, but where you feel uncomfortable, I invite you to come up, your neck hurts, please come up, we will chant Buddha's name for you and dedicate it to your neck.Because we have this American scholar this time, he contacted the University of California, Arizona University, and Pennslyvania State, These physicists from several universities did this kind of experiment.The so-called power of intentions he does, you have an intention, the more specific the intention, the better. For example, you just make the glass of water crystal look good, and you ask for it very specifically, and then add thoughts to it, and it has a very good effect.

Dr. Zhong: Do you want to do an experiment?What are your problems? Is it uncomfortable?

Volunteer: I will tell you in detail now. My arm has been numb for a long time.

Dr. Zhong: Please come here to sit down.Before the experiment begins, I will ask a few questions first.First of all, how many years has this been happening with your arm?

Volunteer: This arm was actually numb and numb more than ten years ago, and sometimes it suddenly hurts.Once when I was wiping the glass, it suddenly hurt so much, as if the tendon was not twisting, but I suddenly felt a special pain.Then it gradually worsened and it had been painful since the end of last year.

In fact, it started to hurt a lot two years ago, but it didn't always happen, just at the end of last year.

Dr. Zhong: Do you think there is a better treatment method? Have you tried it?

Volunteer: Tried.I also did a massage myself, and then I worshiped Buddha, which was to follow the Buddha said by Master Daozheng, and of course I also exercised myself, massaged and exercised. Now it is indeed much better than last year.

Dr. Zhong: Do you feel pain now?

Volunteer: I've been numbing now, and this hand has been numbing all the time. This hand has been numbing.

Dr. Zhong: Then let’s use your hand to do an experiment.

Volunteer: OK, thank you!

Dr. Zhong: The more specific this goal, the better.Can we do this now? Let’s cooperate and recite the Buddha’s name for ten minutes, and then dedicate it to her with sincerity.You can show you this hand.I want to talk about this trick first, because some scientists now say that they need to have an idea, and they say that this idea is a power of the sixth consciousness.In fact, the power of this sixth consciousness is of course very strong, but what is the strongest power when we learn Buddhism?Tune out the energy of your own nature.Can you achieve your own nature?Yes, as long as you don’t have a thought, you can achieve this energy. This energy is countless billions of times stronger than the energy of the sixth consciousness.Of course, we cannot see the nature now, so we cannot mobilize it so casually, but we focus on this thought by chanting Buddha's name, and this thought is close to our own nature;What's more, the Buddha's name we recite itself represents the infinite merits of one's own nature.The mind that can recite is our true heart, the mind that can recite is the true heart, and the Buddha that is recited represents one's own nature. The energy that can recite is combined into one is very huge.So, why do we say that the three-time thought-provoking Dharma Assembly can send the undead to the Western Paradise? This energy is amazing, right?Now we will make this energy more specialized and focus on her hands, so we will experiment for ten minutes.Everyone, let’s have a rest. Within these ten minutes, I hope everyone will recite with sincerity, because the more sincere you are, the greater your energy will be.

Everyone will listen to my instructions now.Please sit down.Everyone knows which finger it is, right?It was the finger of her right hand, she was very numb now.You feel very tidy now.Let’s see if she can eliminate the numbness after ten minutes of reciting. The experiment she did was very obvious.Let’s chant for ten minutes, and everyone will relax. I will chant the Buddha’s name here, and relax. We will chant the Buddha’s name with four characters and four sounds. It’s now 4:20, and chant until 4:30.Now let’s relax our whole body first, from head to toe.Take a deep breath and empty all your thoughts.Breathing, now visualize, we are like seeing the setting sun in the West. The sun is very red, just like the light on the top of Amitabha Buddha, and our whole body is in the most comfortable environment we feel.It may be by the beach, or in the very nice green mountains and waters you have walked through, you are the only one who forgets the current environment.Then we concentrate our energy, look at the Buddha's light that looks like the setting sun, and then visualize the Buddha's body.Can everyone visualize it?If you try to visualize, this Buddha image is standing in front of you, and we are like facing the compassionate master.In fact, the Amitabha Buddha in front of you is exactly what you see in your own nature. He is yourself, and you are integrated with him.Now let’s pronounce the four-character and four-sound together.You can also not need to visualize when chanting. We are already facing Amitabha Buddha, and Amitabha Buddha is standing in front of us. We recite the four-character name with the most sincere and sincere heart, and empty all our thoughts.After we have finished reciting, we will dedicate all the merits of chanting the Buddha's name in ten minutes to the female lay Buddhist just now to reduce its numbness.OK, let’s start chanting Amitabha together.Amitabha, Amitabha, Amitabha...

Let us dedicate the merits of reciting the Buddha's name just now to the female lay Buddhist in front of us to eliminate the numbness of the right finger of the lay Buddhist in front of us and restore normalcy.Now we slowly open our eyes and relax our body and mind. The mind shakes down the negative energy, lesions, and disease energy in our body, moves joints, and discharges the numb and sore lesions of the body into the ground with our minds.

Let’s see how the test results are now, and see if there is any effect, what do you think, and will it be better?Tell the truth.Because I have never done this experiment, see how the result is, and then how we can improve it.Do you think numbness will reduce some?Still don't think so.Is it lighter?Not too much feeling.Is it not enough for us to recite the Buddha’s name just now?Anyway, it doesn't matter, because I am also exploring this experiment.Because we understand the truth, if you have a single mind, this energy is incredible.But the size of the effect depends on whether our thoughts can be focused. The purer the thought, the higher the energy it has, which can really help us resolve it.

Like when General Qi Jiguang was fighting, his soldiers died on the battlefield. His ghost came to ask him to be liberated, so he promised to read a Diamond Sutra to dedicate it to him and help him read it.After reading one, the ghost came to dream again in the evening and told General Qi that I only got half of your merits.I clearly read a Diamond Sutra, how did you get half of it?Because when you were halfway through reading, you said "No need", and this will disappear later.How could it be?I didn't say no.As a result, when he was reading the Diamond Sutra, the servant in the middle gave him a cup of tea and put it on his desk, he thought to himself, "No need", but he didn't say it out and continued to read the scriptures.But the thought had already arisen. When this thought came, it turned out that the skill could not be completed, so this ghost only received half of the merit.

Let’s think about it, if we just recited the Diamond Sutra for twenty minutes, it took at least twenty minutes. Will we be mixed with thoughts within ten minutes?If you are mixed with thoughts, this merit will be greatly reduced.When I was reciting the Buddha for ten minutes just now, I didn’t have any thoughts mixed with me.
