He was adopted by someone at the age of three, and was blind due to chickenpox all over his body at the age of six.Later, he was sent to Fahua Temple, where Master Li Jingxin was ordained and became a monk. His Dharma name was Hou Cun. At the age of 30, he received the full precepts at Puji Temple in Putuo Mountain.Master Houcun lived in the world for 82 years and 52 years of rehabilitation.

After Master Houcun passed away peacefully in December 2009, his body sat cross-legged in an ordinary wooden niche and placed it on the back mountain of the Fahua Zen Temple in this temple.The fourth year, which is the third day of the tenth lunar month in 2013, the temple decided to hold a cremation ceremony for Master Houcun, and specially invited Master Yantian from Guocheng Temple of Daqing to attend.Before the cremation ceremony, because of my longing, I beg to open the wooden niche to see the master for the last glance.After a careful look, I was shocked and found that my body was not broken, my teeth were white and strong, and everything was intact. I sat upright in the wooden niche and looked lifelike. The most incredible thing was that there were no anticorrosion measures inside and outside the wooden niche. The clothes in the wooden niche were basically broken, but the mage's body and clothes were intact. The body was full and elastic when the visiting touched the body. What was even more amazing was that the hair grew one centimeter long, and there were a few white hair turning black.Reciting Buddha's name has made a rare bodhisattva!
Master Yantian gave a lecture to his disciples: "Master Houcun has achieved such great success in his life.Merit，Shows that the body is not corruptAll living beings。Believe and wish and recite the Buddha's name to be reborn in the Pure Land.This is a powerful proof of becoming a Buddha by reciting the Buddha's name! We must protect the bodhisattvas of the flesh and provide gold offerings, and set a special example for all sentient beings to recite the Buddha's name and become a Buddha in the future."At 6 pm that day, the compassionate Master Yantian and Hui Chi discussed with him immediately led the crowd to invite the Bodhisattva of the Body from the mountain overnight. The Master also taught a series of methods to protect the Bodhisattva of the Body.
During the process of asking the Bodhisattva of the Physical Body to gold, the Bodhisattva of the Physical Body has appeared many auspicious signs and sentiments.The most extraordinary thing is that in 2014, a lotus friend from Ningbo, Mr. Ye, came to worship on the Christmas Day of Sakyamuni Buddha on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month.Mr. Ye came to the temple and went into the main hall to worship Buddha. While she was worshiping, she thought about where the physical Bodhisattva was worshipped. As she thought about watching, she suddenly saw the physical Bodhisattva in the main hall beside her, and in her heartjoy、I worshiped sincerely. As soon as I went down, I saw the flesh-body Bodhisattva looking at her with kind eyes. At that time, I thought my eyes were blurred, but when I bowed the second, I looked like that, and the eyes were still the same, and the surroundings of my mouth were shining.The next day, she said to Huiji happily like a child: "Master, the Bodhisattva of the flesh is alive, and her eyes are as bright as ours, and her mouth is always shining."Hui Chi believes that this is true, because one is that she is very respectful to the Bodhisattva of the flesh, and the other is that she is also very diligent in chanting Buddha's name, so she can communicate with Taoism.In addition, anyone who is respectful and confident in the fleshly bodhisattva has seen the auspicious signs, and everyone sighs incredible.
Master Houcun's lifelong practice
When Master Houcun was alive, he practiced diligently and diligently. He did not have the so-called fame, reputation, wealth, greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and not talk about right and wrong among others. He was poor and indifferent throughout his life, and was honest. More importantly, he recited Namo Amitabha Buddha for his whole life! The master warned his disciples a year before his rebirth: "After rebirth, you should not offer me a tablet in the rebirth hall. I want to become a Buddha. Do you still need to eat those foods?" Master Houcun already knew and firmly believed that he could be reborn in the Pure Land.
Master Yin Guang once taught in "Reply to the Book of Mr. Ye Fubei": "Whether you are at home or in the temple, you must respect the upper and lower levels.Tolerate what others cannot tolerate, and to do what others cannot do.The work of others is the beauty of adults.Sitting in meditation always reflects on one's own mistakes, and chatting without making any mistakes.Walking, standing, sitting, lying down, dressing, eating, from morning to evening, from evening to morning, chanting the Buddha's name without interruption.You may recite in a low voice or silent manner, except for reciting the Buddha's name, do not have any other thoughts.If false thoughts arise, you must teach him to eliminate them immediately.Always feel ashamed and repentant.Even if I practice, I always feel that my skills are very shallow and I am not proud of myself.Just care about your own family, no matter others.Just look at good looks, not bad looks.Everyone is a Bodhisattva, but I am the only one who is an ordinary person.If you can act according to what I say, you will definitely be reborn in the Western Paradise.”
Master Houcun's daily practice is exactly like this. He has 24 hours a day, no day or night, and he chants the Buddha's name when he opens his eyes. He often hears the sound of chanting Buddha's name in the middle of the night in the next room. He is responsible for knocking on the boards in the morning and evening every day. He insists on morning and evening homework every day. No matter how hot or cold the weather is, he never misses classes. Unless he is sick, he cannot walk.During the day, he rang the bell with one hand and the wooden fish with the other hand, a "Amitabha Sutra" and a sentence of Amitabha Buddha. When the lay Buddhists came, they took everyone to chant the Buddha's name. When the lay Buddhists left, they chanted the Buddha's name alone. As they chanted, they fell asleep. When they woke up, they woke up and chanted the Buddha's name quickly. This is like this every day, every year.There is no need to pay attention to what you give in life. You can eat more, eat less, and eat less. You don’t have to be attached to leftovers, and you don’t have any complaints, just eat enough.
1958The Great Leap Forward and beyond ***，All temples were bombed, Buddha statues were destroyed, and monks had nowhere to settle down. 1969From 1984, Master Houcun was taken to Guanyin Mountain in Qushan for several years and sent to Zhenxiu Temple in Zhangtao Village, where he was wandering for more than ten years.In 1987, Fahua Temple was returned.Fahua Temple was built in the late Qing Dynasty and has experienced many vicissitudes and hardships in history. It was previously a small and unique courtyard. ***During this period, the Buddha statues were destroyed and the monks were driven out. Fortunately, the temple was not blown up and occupied by the local government and changed to a township government office. Later, the school was changed.Decades later, policy changes, schools were relocated, and government departments ordered the demolition of the original buildings.When the abbot Master Jingxin learned about it, he felt deeply uneasy and was afraid that the ancestral court would be destroyed. In desperation, Master Houcun was sent to move into Fahua Temple.Because the mage forced himself to live in, he was often driven away by local government departments.In order to protect the Fahua Temple, Master Houcun suffered all kinds of grievances, but she never retreated and insisted on protecting her, requiring the local government to return the Fahua ancestral home.The abbot, Master Jingxin, also ran around and asked the relevant departments to return the objects of the Fahua ancestral temple to the original owner. At the same time, he gathered people to recite the Buddha's name and prayed for the blessings and protection of the Three Jewels.It was really touched by sincerity. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were merciful and responded to the mercy. After discussion by the leaders of the religious department, the Fahua Temple was finally returned successfully.If Master Houcun had not been persistent in persisting, perhaps the Fahua Zen Temple today would be a pile of ruins, and she had truly achieved unbearable and unbearable.
Although Master Houcun has unclear eyes, he has a smart mind and a very good memory. For example, he will recite some Buddhist scriptures such as the Five Classics and the "Universal Door Chapter".I am eighty years old and I still wash my clothes by myself, never causing any trouble for others.Perhaps it is precisely because of the unclear eyes that Master Houcun became a Buddha in his life.She often says that her life is too bitter, she is disgusted with the Saha world and is willing to chant the Buddha's name wholeheartedly, so she never compares with others, talks with others, or cares about others. This truly makes her pure body and mind, stay away from others' right and wrong, stay away from greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and fame, reputation, and profit, which means reciting the Buddha's name honestly.The old man has achieved the purity of body, speech and mind, and the name of Buddha every day.
