How did Amitabha become a Buddha?have no idea.What is the forty-eight wishes?have no idea.How did it initiate it?Don't know either.In order to practice, of course, the Contemplation Sutra talks about "visibility", and Amitabha Buddha talks about "seven days and seven nights", and only gives one Dharma, but all the paths of practice are not as complete as this sutra says.Therefore, this sutra perfectly captures all wonders, and all the perfectly wonderful places are perfectly included.What is its principle?A sutra must have a sect.What is the center of the Mahayana Amitabha Sutra?To develop the Bodhicitta, always focus on chanting, practice means to develop the Bodhicitta.The words of the "Avatamsaka Sutra" "Forget bodhicitta and practice all good deeds are the devil's karma."If you forget the bodhicitta and do all kinds of good deeds, it is a devil's business, and it is a devil's karma.Bodhicitta is important. No matter which practises, you cannot develop Bodhicitta without practicing.Great wisdom, great compassion, great vows and power are combined to melt into a heart that is one.The Amitabha Sutra is based on the purpose of raising the Bodhicitta.The light-emitting bodhicitta is the same as other schools, and they always focus on chanting, and always keep it like this, concentrate on chanting and chanting Amitabha Buddha.The purpose of this sutra is to develop the Bodhicitta and use the method of chanting Buddha's name.The great wish of rebirth of Amitabha's ten recitations is based on the great wish.What is the fundamental purpose?What is the purpose of this sutra?What is the fundamental purpose?That is, Amitabha has a forty-eight great wishes.There is an eighteenth vow for the forty-eight vows, which is the great vow that will surely be reborn if you recite ten sentences, and that will surely be reborn if you recite ten sentences.Now our elder Mingzhen practices the ten-recitation method. He is Zen, Zen, and the practice of Zen is also practiced in Pure Land.He wants to be reborn, and he can recite ten breaths a day, ten times of reciting the Dharma, and ten times of reciting the Dharma can be reborn.When you are dying, you can recite ten sentences, even one sentence can be reborn.This is Amitabha’s great vow, which is called ten thoughts that will be reborn.At the time of death, you can recite "Namo Amitabha" ten times, no matter what sins you have, you will definitely be born in the Pure Land at that time.This is called the great vow that will be born in ten thoughts.There are now 50 million Pure Land Sects in Japan, and more than 100 million people in Japan are well developed. Half of the population are almost all Pure Land Sects, and they all recite the Buddha's name.He followed the teachings of Master Shandao in China, and he grasped the 18th great vow.Therefore, when chanting Buddha's name, Japan divided into many small sects, mainly Master Shandao, and grasped the 18th great vow.The eighteen great vows are "real faith and happiness, and wish to be reborn in the Pure Land". Even if you recite ten times, you can be reborn, so it is extremely convenient and great vow.It is OK to recite ten recitations like Master Mingzhen.The rest of the people are not like you. They watch TV all day long, surf the road all day long, and only recite ten words of Amitabha a day.Then I tell you, you will not be reborn.In order to promote Buddhism and practice other things, you have very little time, so you can insist on reciting ten times a day.No matter what method is used, you can be reborn with ten recitations at the end of your life. You can have ten recitations at the beginning of your life, and both at the end of your life can be reborn with ten recitations at the beginning of your life.With this as the foundation, Amitabha has this great wish.He made this vow, Amitabha was the most merciful. I wanted to save sentient beings, not just plain words. I wanted to save sentient beings. You should give him a way to save them.It will lead him to leave this world of suffering in the Saha world and go to the Pure Land to study, not to enjoy it.If he is encouraged to enjoy himself, it is not Amitabha.Amitabha Buddha gives you a better condition for further study, an environment, and after you go there, you will decide to succeed, and you will not regress.Your lifespan is immeasurable, so what if you fail?All kinds of causes and conditions will encourage your heart of Tao and are a great environment.
Why is this sutra good if you understand the causes of rebirth in the three generations?This third sentence, what do the previous generation do when three generations are reborn?How do middle-aged people do it?What do the next generation do?The upper class has high requirements, the middle class is in the middle, and the lower class is lower.No matter which generation you meet, because there are specific conditions, specific circumstances, no matter whether you meet a certain condition, rebirth is absolutely absolute.After all, you will be reborn in the three generations. You will be reborn with all the merits, wisdom, courage, and various practices.The highest level of birth is a great Bodhisattva, and he can clone his body to the infinite world to hear the Buddha's preaching, and clone his body to save sentient beings in the infinite world, and he will obtain the infinite Dharani.This has reached this level before it has ceased.There is a common condition for rebirth in the three generations, and they all need to develop the Bodhicitta and always concentrate on chanting Amitabha Buddha.We will analyze the details in detail later.
Among the saints and mortals in the nine realms, both saints and mortals in the nine realms can be accepted.This sutra also covers the world.We must be good people, and we must become Buddhas and be reborn. Our ancestors must do well. Those who believe in Buddhism in society will be admired by others."Look at it, you're going to be a Buddhist," that is to slander the Dharma with your body.Five evils, five pains, five burns, all kinds of cunning and deceiving and doing all kinds of bad things.Five evils, five kinds of sins: killing, stealing, adultery, and lying.As soon as the triangular scraper stabbed in.Killing, stealing, robbery, kidnapping, promiscuity, nonsense, lying, provoking and discord, all these sins must be prohibited.This sutra is also discussed, not only in depth, but also in the principles of being a human being.It covers the saints and ordinary people in the nine realms.The method of chanting the name of Buddha is revealed, and the method of chanting the name of Buddha is displayed in a dignified and upright way, directly pointing to the path to rebirth.Everyone is reborn, returns to the original state, restores our original state, and restores our original Buddha nature.This road is pointed directly at us and pointed out clearly.Therefore, this sutra is called the first sutra of Pure Land Buddhism.This sutra is called the first sutra of Pure Land.Why?It is because of the reasons I just mentioned.
Such a special first sutra, but this special first Pure Land Buddhism is actually idle in our country's Tripitaka, and the dust covers for more than a thousand years. Why is this?The reason for this is to examine the reason and investigate the reason, these five original translations have been translated twelve times, and there are still five more types of translations. These five original translations are too different.For example, there are two translations of the "Amitabha Sutra", which also translated by Kumarajiva and Xuanzang.There are several types of Diamond Sutra, and there are many translations of the Heart Sutra, but it is not very different.Of course, the Heart Sutra is slightly larger in size. Our Heart Sutra is only in the middle section. Some have no head, some have no end, and some still have heads, and the Buddha is still preaching.In the end, everyone left with courtesy.Now everyone is chanting the translation of Master Xuanzang, and this sutra is chanting in a middle section.Others still translate the same as other scriptures.This is not very different, and the beginning and end are the same as other sutras.But the five books of the "Amitabha Sutra" are too different.This book and that book, this includes this content, and that includes that content.Let me give you an example to summarize the others.We just said that the most important thing is Amitabha’s wish.We all know Amitabha’s forty-eight great vows. Among the five translations, Wei (Cao Cao) and Kang Sengkai translated the forty-eight vows.The Tang Dynasty translated the forty-eight wishes again.Only two of these five types are forty-eight vows, and the rest are not forty-eight vows.The older Han Dynasty translated it, before the Three Kingdoms, and at the same time as Cao Cao, Sun Quan and Eastern Wu also translated it. These two books are the twenty-four wishes.Some people criticized Teacher Xia for being twenty-four wishes that have become twenty-four things for you.Without careful consideration, there are two types of Twenty-Four Wishes.The Song Dynasty translated it is thirty-six, and the ancient "Amitabha Sutra" also talks about twenty-four vows and twenty-four chapters.In ancient scriptures, there were three of twenty-four people, two of forty-eight people, and one of thirty-six people.Think about it, is this a big difference?And this is the most important thing.
The first item teaches the cause and condition.The cause and condition of the teaching is divided into two steps. The first step is the cause and condition of the rise of all scriptures. One only talks about the cause and condition of the rise of the teaching of the "Amitabha Sutra".Because this is what fits us.We need to study the "Amitabha Sutra", the rise of this great teaching and the Pure Land Dharma, which we will discuss first.In this paragraph, all dharmas are born from causes and conditions, so all dharmas are born from causes and conditions.So the Buddhism of the great sect Sakyamuni was born in our world with infinite causes and conditions, and what is the most important and the most important of these infinite causes and conditions?It is a big cause and condition, a big thing is not an ordinary cause and condition.What is the cause and condition of a big event?Explain in the words of the Lotus Sutra.We know that the Avatamsaka Sutra belongs to the perfect teaching, which is the most harmonious and unobstructed, and the most wonderful teaching in our Buddhist scriptures.The Buddha initially talked about the "Avatamsaka Sutra" and finally talked about the "Lotus Sutra".There is a metaphor, like when the sun comes out, where will the sun's rays shine first?First shine on the top of a mountain. Only on the top of a mountain can the highest aptitude be able to understand Huayan.Let’s talk about Huayan first.When the sun sets, where will it shine?When it shines on the top of the mountain again, the sun cannot be seen at the bottom of the mountain.Just like the sun, the sunrise shines on the high mountains first, and the sunset shines on the high mountains too.When talking about the "Avatamsaka Sutra", it also shines at the mountains. Finally, when talking about the "Lotus Sutra", when talking about the "Lotus Sutra", many people have been following Shakyamuni Buddha and have matured their cultivation. Then they talk about the "Lotus Sutra".However, there were still five thousand disciples who left the seat at the Lotus Sutra.Today we listened, and one-third of them went out and stopped listening.That was the case when talking about the Lotus Sutra.What did the Buddha say?"It's good to retreat", it's good to withdraw, if you don't understand, you can't understand it, this is barely possible.The method of the perfect teaching is difficult to understand, so this Tibetan Buddhism is different from the perfect.The perfect teaching is the Lotus Sutra and the Huayan Sutra.What does the Lotus Sutra say?
"All Buddhas and World Honored Ones only have one major cause."All Buddhas and World Honored Ones in the Ten Directions appeared in the world because of the only major cause.Why do they appear in the world?At this time, Shakyamuni Buddha appeared. In the past, there were also Buddhas of the lamp, and in the past, there were many Buddhas.All these Buddhas appear in the world, and have a great cause and condition, not an ordinary thing.What is a major cause and condition?Only with the Buddha's knowledge and insights, can we enlighten sentient beings and let them be enlightened.The Buddha uses the Buddha's knowledge and views to enlighten us, develop our original heart, and allow us to gain enlightenment.This sentient being is the same as the Buddha's knowledge and views.Just because of such a great cause, this is what the sun did not shine on the mountain.The "Avatamsaka Sutra" is illuminated by the sunrise, so the "Avatamsaka Sutra" is first said to become a Buddha. No one understands it, so the Buddha wants to nirvana.Later, he talked about the Hinayana teachings, and he said that the Tathagata should offer sacrifices and other enlightenment, the tenth digits of the Buddha.This abbreviation is only a few, and it is not fully named.The Tathagata's promise to offer, his wise actions, good deeds, and worldly interpretations are all brief.The Buddha is the Buddha, and the Dharma that originates from the nature is incredible.Why do you say so?Such a Buddha's Dharma arising from the rise of such a Buddha does not appear in the world for less cause and condition.This is the world where countless, hundreds of thousands of Asankhyas achieve the enlightenment of cause and condition.Asankhi is a very big and indescribable number.The causes and conditions of countless kalpas of Asankhya kalpas are the result of infinite causes and conditions that appear in the world.When you become a Buddha in the Buddha world, you have countless causes and conditions to become a Buddha, and it also appears in this world."Even if we talk about such infinite causes and conditions", we have to talk about infinite causes and conditions, but in fact, it is just for a big cause and condition?What are the causes and conditions of major events?"It is only because sentient beings want to teach the Buddha's knowledge and views."Only desire means wishing to be able to teach the Buddha's knowledge and views.We always say that we ask someone to give a lecture. The word "teaching" comes from here, which allows sentient beings to gain Buddha's knowledge and insights and understand Buddha's knowledge and insights. This is also the four words "teaching" and the great cause and effect are to gain enlightenment into Buddha's knowledge and insights.Then the matter of teaching the Buddha is to open up and express the Buddha's knowledge and views, and sentient beings can realize and realize the Buddha's knowledge and views.So this is very clear. Why did the teaching appear? It is for such a big cause and condition.Today, everyone has given up their family, all the enjoyment in the world, and has given up their enjoyment. Being a monk is also a great cause.And this great cause and condition should be to be able to open up the knowledge and views of the Buddha and show the knowledge and views of the Buddha.If we want to learn Buddhism, we must learn this.We want to inherit, that is, we want to inherit this matter.This "Lotus Sutra" is the last Buddhism, and the Buddha said before Nirvana.After talking about the Lotus Sutra, the Buddha will be nirvana.Therefore, the "Avatamsaka Sutra" was originally said by the Buddha, from beginning to end, and the same is true between the two ends.Only for such a great cause and condition, I want sentient beings to enlighten the Buddha's knowledge and views, to open up the Buddha's knowledge and views, to enter the Buddha's knowledge and views, that is, to wish all sentient beings to enlighten the Buddha's knowledge and views, not to pour some other principles into the Buddha, but to pour the tape into it like a tape.What is the actual knowledge and views of Buddha?When Shakyamuni Buddha saw the stars on Laba Day, his first sentence was "What a wonder, what a wonder, all sentient beings are all wisdom and virtues of the Tathagata.""This is the Buddha's knowledge and views. All sentient beings have the Buddha's wisdom and virtue.You are the same as Buddha’s wisdom as Sakyamuni Buddha and Vairocana Buddha.This is the Buddha's knowledge and insight.The main thing is that everyone can understand this, understand this, and confirm this.You have to prove that this is Sakyamuni Buddha.So we need to understand, and we must first understand this.All of them are helpful.There are countless hundreds of thousands of causes and conditions, only for this great cause and condition, then enlightenment is like the Buddha's knowledge and views. Your knowledge and views are the same as those of Buddha, and this is also inherent in sentient beings.Look at what sentient beings possess, but you have them.The Buddha opens it for you, and you will suddenly become enlightened. If you are the same as the Buddha's knowledge and views, you will become a Buddha when you reach enlightenment.The Buddha’s saving sentient beings, the Buddha’s wishes, the rise of this sutra, and the Buddha’s great causes and conditions are also like this, so let’s give an example.The "Avatamsaka Sutra" and "Lotus Sutra" are very clear. Are there anything similar in our "Amitabha Sutra" and "Amitabha Sutra"?The Amitabha Sutra translated by Master Xuanzang is very ready-made."I see such great causes and conditions for benefiting and happiness, and speak sincerely"!Therefore, all sentient beings possess the wisdom and virtue of the Tathagata, which is the Buddha's knowledge and views.If you recite ten times, you will be reborn in the Pure Land, and ordinary people will attain the unretreatment. This is the Buddha's knowledge and insight.Didn't you say it last time?Such a special method cannot be believed and understood by all sentient beings in the nine realms. This is not something that the Buddha can understand by all sentient beings in the nine realms, including Bodhisattvas.In other words, it won't work.We must know that when we study the Pure Land Method, we cannot regard it as step by step.It is to see such benefits, such great causes and conditions, such benefits, such special benefits, such happiness, and such happiness, without these five evils, five pains and five burns!To obtain pure and perfect Dharma happiness, such a great cause and condition "speak sincerely".Let me tell you to chant Amitabha Buddha and seek rebirth in the Pure Land.It can be seen that the rise of Pure Land Sect is the same as that of the "Avatamsaka Sutra" and the "Lotus Sutra".Very detailed, circulated worldwide.There was such a book in the Song Dynasty that was circulated in the world and many people adopted it. This was really good!But this book has great shortcomings, so I wrote it again below.Although Wang's Sutra has made great contributions to the Pure Land, the foundation of the Sutra is quite incorrect.The mistake is a reversal, and the mistake is a mistake.The wise cherish the flaws of Bai Gui.It’s a very good white jade, but it’s a bit spotted, that’s a pity!Where is the error?First, let’s quote Master Lianchi.Master Lianchi said that he "copied the front and the back, and went to get the last one."Some of them are copied, and some of them are written by themselves, which is called copying before and after, copying first and then writing first and then writing again.Go and get it, and you have not removed everything, and you have copied it up. It is inappropriate to go.What you pick and what you copy down is not the essence, but there are many very important things that have not been taken out.This is the criticism of Master Lianchi.Peng Shaosheng became even more sharp, "chaotic and inconsistent, and incompatible with the order."It is messy, as the saying goes, "Married" means mistakes and confusion.It’s not good to be good or to behave.It is messy and inconsistent, and does not conform to the original purpose, which devalues it and does not conform to the purpose of the Perfect Teaching.Although this book is very circulating, Goode believes that the shortcomings are serious.Now I am myself. I follow the ancient sayings and summarize Lianchi, Mr. Peng and other other people's statements into three disadvantages of Wang Longshu's collection: First, Wang Hui's collection consists of four translations, and there are still Tang translations that have not been included.However, in the Tang Dynasty, it is called "The Amitabha Buddha's Association" in the Great Treasure Sutra.There are many exquisite words in this Tang translation, translated by Bodhi Liuzhi, and there are many essences of Pure Land Sect.But Wang Longshu did not, because he was in the Song Dynasty, and he should have known this book, but he ignored it.He did not use part of the Amitabha Sutra of the Great Treasures, which is called the "Amitabha Tathagata", which he ignored.He is missing one.This is the first disadvantage.The second disadvantage: to get the unjust, and to get the essence of the traditional and legacy.I collected complicated things and cumbersome things, but the important things went away.The depth should be shallow, which is what I summarized, and changed the deep to shallow.Let's give an example of this.The words of Master Lunchi.Master Lianchi blamed him for "three generations of rebirth", and Wei Yi was willing to develop the Bodhicitta.Three generations of rebirth: the upper generation, the middle generation, and the lower generation.The three generations translated by Tang Sengkai in Cao Wei all said that they should develop the Bodhicitta.The previous generation also develops the Bodhicitta, the middle generation also develops the Bodhicitta, and the lower generation also develops the Bodhicitta.But where did Wang Longshu gather?What to be?Only the middle generation develops the Bodhicitta, but the upper one does not mention it, and he does not mention it.If the lower generation does not develop the Bodhicitta, he will change it, which is inconsistent with Wei's translation.If you are still Master Lianchi's words below, "If you don't say anything, you will lose the best."The middle generation has developed the Bodhicitta, but the upper ones don't say it anymore, and the order of the higher and lower ones is wrong.Then the previous generation should have developed the Bodhicitta, so the order of the high and low is incorrect, "so it is said to be not finished."From the above, this is Master Lianchi’s criticism.The superior did not say anything, but the superior did not say anything. You lost all the important things, and you said that you did not release the lower grade, and changed the deep things to shallow ones. To develop the bodhicitta is a very deep thing, but if you change it to not release it, it will become a shallow one?Many people have explained the principles of Buddhist scriptures a lot, and changed them to shallow. This is something I hope that everyone here will pay special attention to in the future. Don’t quickly think that this is what you have experienced.The "Forty-Two Chapters" says, "Be careful not to believe your intention, your intention cannot be trusted.""Be cautious, don't believe your thoughts, your thoughts cannot be believed.Because you are in delusion.Many of the changes to deep are shallow. He thought he understood, so he gave some explanations, and actually explained the deep things very shallowly.These are all disadvantages.Therefore, Master Lianchi and Peng Erlin both criticized Wang Longshu's two shortcomings of the "Great Amitabha Sutra".The third disadvantage is that "resolutely adding texts", which is the fatal injury of Wang Longshu's book.We cannot make such an example.This is very strict.Master Lianchi said, "The first and the last are copied, but the translation is not followed."He blamed him for copying scriptures and four types of translations. He copied a little of this and then copied a little of this, but he compiled some of this and some of this.After he gathered this meaning, how could he connect the words?I compiled some sentences myself as scriptures.The scriptures are what the Buddha said. If you treat your own compilation as the Buddha said, this is very bad.This example cannot be opened.After copying, since you are collecting, you must follow the original sutra.You can collect a few books, and you know that you can copy the original things from these books, and you can't compile a large paragraph by yourself, and you can't add sentences to the original translation by yourself.This avoids the problem of changing the meridians.Therefore, Master Lianchi criticized him for "not following the translation".If you translate, you can do it. You have the original Indian version. After you read it, this original translation is different from the previous one. If you translate it according to the original version, you will allow you to use your own words. But now it is not your translation. If you are compiling, you cannot use your own sentences casually.So Wang Longshu’s mistake is not that he should not gather, but that there are some problems after gathering.This is the process. In addition to these five original translations, Wang Longshu is the sixth book.
As for Peng Shaosheng, he saw that Wang's book was not good, so he deleted the Wei translation and many complicated things.Of course, this is not a collection of books, it is an abridged version.In the late Qing Dynasty, Wei Moshen was very good at writing and was a writer. He compiled five translations, including Tang translations, and tried to avoid Wang Longshu's mistakes, so he compiled some by himself.As soon as he came out, this book was indeed better than Wang Longshu's one, and it was circulated, and it was much better than Wang Longshu's "The Great Amitabha Sutra", but he did not completely avoid Wang Longshu's problems.Many long passages talk about these mistakes in our world, such as lust, hatred, greed, anger, and ignorance, which are all deleted. These are still very important.If you want to study Buddhism, you must be a person who stands up in society.All of these have been deleted.Added some sentences.The fire of lust is burned, the fire of anger is burned, and this fire comes to burn.These words were not written in the original scriptures, but were written by himself.He said that the Buddha's palace was either in the void or in the flat ground, which is the word in the sutra.He suddenly added, either in the void, on the flat ground, or among the trees.In the treasure tree, a palace where people live.He added this one by himself.So he did not completely remedy Wang Longshu's shortcomings, so this is the old lay Buddhist Xia Lianju.The old lay Buddhist went into seclusion.He is a scholar in all aspects of literature, Confucianism, and Chinese classicalism. He first practiced Zen Buddhism, and finally returned to Pure Land from Zen Buddhism and Tantric Buddhism.Retreat, compassion, wisdom and both sects are understood.He is both wise and compassionate, so he gathers together because of this, and he is a sect that understands both of them.The sects and sects are all understood, which is what we often use.Clan, our religion.Now everyone is studying Buddhism and Buddhism.Therefore, reading scriptures and listening to lectures is all about studying teachings.One is to teach, one is to teach, one is to teach, and the other comes from the sect.The sect just does not establish words, and does not have words, so it is passed down outside the teachings.Everyone should know about the sect and teachings.Another teaching outside the teaching is that there is no text, no ladder, and it is not step by step. It goes through many, many levels, and through various meditations, practice meditation and contemplation, the four meditations and eight concentrations, and one must have a sequence.As for the sect, it does not establish words, does not have sequences, points directly to the human heart, and realizes the nature and becomes a Buddha.No language and text.Confusion is sentient beings, enlightenment is Buddha, and there is no ladder in the middle.The first Zen case, everyone thinks that this is a case and a standard, is called a case.The first case of Zen Buddhism was when the Buddha presented the Buddha with golden paramita at the Lingshan Dharma Assembly.The Emperor of Heaven took himself as his seat and asked the Buddha to sit on him and preach.The Buddha picked up a flower.The Buddha picked up a flower for the public to show it. When everyone saw it, they didn’t know what it meant, but the public was confused and didn’t know what it meant.Only Kashyapa smiled.He looked at it and smiled, and the Buddha said, "I have the wonderful mind of Nirvana and the eyes of the Dharma. I asked Mahakasyapa."The wonderful heart of Nirvana and the eye hiding of the Dharma have been given to Mahakasyapa.You see, there is no word, and the Buddha said nothing to him, nor did he say anything to him.Everyone was puzzled, just Mahakasyapa smiled, this was the smile of picking flowers.When the Buddha picked up a flower, Kashyapa smiled, which was called the first Zen case.The robe was passed on to Kashyapa.After the Nirvana Conference, if you have any arguments about the scriptures, you must listen to Kashyapa.He passed on the Buddha's heart, and he passed on the Buddha's heart seal, and the heart is in harmony.Printing is very important. In the past, foreign countries used to sign, while China talked about seals.You have to carve a stamp, a stamp with deposit, and when withdrawing money, pair you with your original stamp, and pay if the stamp is right.Printing is very important.Kashyapa obtained the seal of Sakyamuni's heart, which was not in the language and words. It was called a separate teaching outside the teachings and did not establish words.So now is it possible for people in Buddhist colleges to start practicing Zen?This is mainly about learning and teaching.Of course, teaching can also open up the perfect interpretation, and do not establish any words at all. There is no language here, so Zen does not need to read any sutras.
