There is a custom in this country that no one who borrows money from each other will borrow money only when he goes to the magistrate and the politician will be the proof.At that time, a businessman thought of doing business overseas, but the capital was not enough, so he borrowed a large amount of money from Shiluo Shizhi.
Shiluo Shizhi was not in good health and had only one son.He brought his son and money to his brother with that person.He said to his brother: This businessman wants to borrow a lot of money from me and go overseas to do business, and he has already agreed on the annual interest rate.I am not in good health. If I die, the money should be paid back to my son with the capital and profit. I hereby ask my brother to be a witness.
Tan Ruoshizhi agreed.
Not long after, Shiluo Shizhi really died.
Besides, the merchant set sail to sea, but unexpectedly encountered a big storm and the ship was overturned. Fortunately, the merchant grabbed a board and saved his life.When he returned to the country, he was dressed in rags and empty-handed, and had nothing.
When Shiluo Shizhi's son heard the news, one day, he met the businessman on the street. Seeing that he was ragged and in dismay, he thought to himself: Although he owes me so much money, he is now empty-handed and so poor that he doesn't even have food to eat. Where can I get the money to pay me back?I didn't mention borrowing money.After a few days, I heard that the businessman went out to sea with some other businessmen.
This time, this businessman has been operating from time to time, doing business overseas, making a fortune, and returning to China with gold, silver and jewelry.After returning to China, the first thing he had to pay off his debts, but the businessman thought to himself: Last time he returned to China, he met Shiluo Shizhi's son, and he didn't mention lending to me at all. I don't know because he was too young and couldn't remember that I had borrowed money;It's still because I'm too poor, so I didn't ask for it.Let me test it!So his wife got on a horse, put on gorgeous clothes, and came to the market.
When Shiluo Shizhi's son saw the merchant's outfit, he thought to himself: He has made a lot of money this time and should pay off his debts.He sent a servant to tell the merchant: You should pay back the debt you owe now.
The businessman had nothing to say and had to agree.
When the businessman returned home, the more he thought about it, he became more and more frustrated, thinking: It’s a big sum of money, with the capital and profit, and it’s a big sum of money!How can I think of a way to just be able to lose this account!Thinking of the middle of the night, I finally came up with a solution.
The next day, he brought a pearl as big as a pigeon egg and came to Tan Ruoshizhi's house to find Tan Ruoshizhi's wife. He said: Madam!I borrowed some money from Shiluo Shizhi back then, and now his son asks me for money.Today I specially gave a pearl, which is worth 100,000 yuan.Please clear the matter to the official, and when Shiluo Shizhi's son asks me for money, please don't come forward to prove it.
Tan Ruoshizhi's wife was moved when she saw the pearl crystal clear and cute, and said: My husband is honest and honest. She may not agree to this matter, but I can try to tell you.As he said that, he took the pearls.
That night, as soon as Tan Ruoshizhi returned home, his wife told him about this.Tan Ruoshizhi thought about it and said: How can that work?It is precisely because I am honest and honest and never lie that the National University of China has made me an official in peace affairs.As long as I lie once, this official will not be considered a lie.
The next day, the businessman came to Tan Ruoshizhi's house to inquire about the news.
Tan Ruoshizhi's wife took out the pearl and returned it to the merchant and said: No!My husband would not agree.
After hearing this, the merchant took out another pearl. This pearl was whiter, rounder, and larger than that, worth 200,000 yuan. He said: Please tell me about the peace officer again. As long as the negotiation is completed, I will give you two beads together.These two pearls are worth 300,000 yuan!Think about it, if the Pingshi official came forward to prove and let Shiluo Shizhi's son get the money back, even though his nephew won, he would not be able to make anything after all.And as long as he does not make a certificate, he can get 300,000.Isn’t this a simple truth about what is beneficial and what is unprofitable?
Tan Ruoshizhi's wife was greedy for pearls, so she agreed to talk about it again.
In the evening, Tan Ruoshizhi's wife mentioned this matter to her husband again and said: This is not a great event, please agree.
Tan Ruoshizhi said: It’s absolutely not possible!I became a civil servant because I didn’t lie. If I lie, who else would trust me again in the future?
Seeing that his husband refused to agree, his wife cried and pulled her son who could not walk, saying: I will marry you and be husband and wife to you, and I will entrust you to your whole life.I thought you really loved me, and for me, I would agree even if I went up to the mountain of swords or the sea of fire.I didn’t expect that such a small thing was just a matter of asking you to say something, and you refused to agree. What’s the point of living?Let me kill this child first, then commit suicide. Both of us will leave you and let you live alone!
As he said that he wanted to kill the child.
Tan Ruoshizhi panicked and quickly shot the child.His wife started to make trouble again, which made Tan Ruoshizhi helpless, so she had to agree to her wife's request.
Tan Ruoshizhi's wife was very happy and quickly passed the news to the merchant.The businessman was overjoyed and took out an elephant, put on a brocade quilt decorated with Qibao, and also wore a seven-treasure suit and rode the elephant to the market.
When Shi Luo Shizhi saw it, he was very happy and thought to himself: He was dressed so gorgeously, he must have made a fortune, and then he would pay off his debts.He said to the businessman: Congratulations on making a fortune. You used to owe my family money, and it's time to pay it back now!
The businessman pretended to be surprised and asked: When did I borrow money from your family?Why don't I know at all!You said I borrowed money from your family. Who can prove this?
When Shiluo Shizhi's son heard the businessman's tone was wrong, he hurriedly said: On a certain month and a certain year, my father and I lent you the money. My uncle was present to prove it. Why did you forget it?
The businessman said: I don't remember anything like this at all.If I really borrowed money, of course I would have to pay it back, but I didn’t!Otherwise, let's go to your uncle to ask.
So, the two came to Tan Ruoshizhi.
Shiluo Shizhi's son said: Uncle, this person borrowed money from my family back then and was your witness. I was also present at that time. Do you still remember this?
Tan Ruoshizhi pretended to say: Is that true?Is there such a thing?I don't remember it at all.
Shiluo Shizhi's son was shocked and begged: Think about it again.
The official of the peace affairs answered decisively: No!There is nothing like this.
The businessman was so happy after hearing this.
Shiluo Shizhi's son hurriedly shouted: At that time, he was clearly in this house and was delivering money in front of you. Why did you say that there was no such thing?Could it be that you are greedy for this person’s money and telling lies against your conscience?

If it were someone else, wouldn’t it be even more lawless?You wait, you must not be a person like you.
Shirashizhi's son came to the king and reported everything to the king.
The king sent someone to investigate, but it was indeed the case. He was very angry and removed his position as a peace officer on the spot and confiscated the bribes received by Tan Ruoshizhi.
When people heard this, they all criticized Tan Ruoshi for forgetting his righteousness when he saw profit.
Tan Ruoshizhi and his wife were so scared that they didn't even dare to go out.
